Living your life - the health and wellness way.
Why Housework is Good For the Mind, Body and Soul.
You may have noticed I haven’t written for a while (what do you mean, ‘who are you?’ How rude!), but for those of you that do miss my silken prose and highly sarcastic tongue, I’ve been cleaning the family home.

Scientists Found a Bizarre Way Bubble Gum Might Lower Your Blood Pressure. AI-Generated.
This is one of those findings that sounds made up until you see the mechanism. Researchers at King's College London had people drink beetroot juice, then chew either sugar-containing gum or sugar-free gum for three to six hours afterward.

Age 60 vs Age 40 - What's The Difference?
I’ve been asked this question so many times, especially by people who dread ageing, and worry constantly about it. My answer tends to be that there are key differences between the two stages, but not the fearful ones that they might imagine.

Turns Out Your Grocery List Might Be Missing a Few Longevity Foods — Here's What Researchers Keep Finding. AI-Generated.
Key takeaways You don’t need exotic “longevity” foods; everyday staples like berries, beans, greens, and coffee are surprisingly well-supported by research. Patterns matter more than perfection: consistently eating more whole, minimally processed foods is where the biggest impact comes from. Reflections on life in a democracy
Reflections of life in a democracy 80 years of change- for better or for worse? I was born in 1942 with very loving and supportive parents who were ”dirt poor” and never owned a car or a home, but they lived good honest lives. I have lived through many governments, some good, some bad. I have noticed changes in the way politicians conduct themselves, regardless of party. They used to be people convinced of their cause, their plans to improve lives and defend the people of Britain. Now, very few politicians have that conviction and that devotion to the nation we call Britain, and those who have this conviction do not get made leaders of their party. Why? We now have professional politicians, many have very limited actual hands-on experience of how the majority live, even those claiming to represent socialism have never spent 20 years living in rented homes struggling day to day to balance income and expenditure. Many left-wing political activists claim the masses want to overthrow the monarchy, take all the money from the rich, break down social barriers, while the truth is the poor just want to stop being poor, they do not want to destroy what others have, they want to move up with them.

Burnout, Checkout
Burnout has escaped the therapist’s office and rolled straight into the checkout cart, which is reason enough to pay attention. You can hardly scroll through social media or glance at the news without being told, solemnly and repeatedly, that everyone is burnt out—or at least very, very tired.
