Vaping, It's a Life Saver
I used to smoke. A lot. I was up to a pack a day, sometimes a pack and a half. This added up very quickly at $7 a pack. My husband and I had kicked around the idea of vaping for a while now. But the initial purchase is usually the most expensive. We opted to get the Smok V8 sticks, as they were easy to use and maintain. Than we got our juices. He started out at a 3mg nicotine level, and I a 6mg level. Considering the average cigarette has 18mg of nicotine in it, I figured 6 was an ok level to begin with. We had vaped on these for a few months, trying different flavors of juices. It's amazing how many there are. And to think that we're getting our nicotine fixes without all the extra chemicals that are added. I had done all the research online, and am learning more about it every day. There's more studies out now that show that vaping is much more healthier than smoking. And even though there's varying studies on the long term effects, most sites say there isn't enough data yet to determine if there's any harmful effects.

How To Deal with Tinnitus
For the past twenty years or so, I have suffered from Tinnitus. This constant ringing in my right ear is part of my day. I can hear it when I wake up and it does not stop until I am sound asleep at night. Just trying to get to sleep is a great feat because of it.

My Future With T1D
So, recap of the last note, I was diagnosed with Type one Diabetes (T1D). I went to Hawaii, had a blast, and took good care of myself. I took care of myself and kept up with everything for the rest of this and next school year and graduated high school. That's when it all went downhill.

My Wake Up Call with T1D
So I'm now moved into my new apartment with my childhood best friend, that I swore never to move in with, how crazy. This is where the story gets motivational, I had stopped taking my medicine almost completely. I felt horrible all the time, but I was making good money at McDonalds. That was starting to get too much as well.

Diagnosed With Cancer While Pregnant
No one expects cancer to enter their lives in their 30s. But that’s exactly what happened to me and here is my story. My husband Josh and I were married May 21, 2015. Two years after we started dating and eight months after we had our first son Ronin. Two months after we got married, I got off birth control and we were going to try for another baby. Ronin was such a happy baby and we were going to just stop with him, but we knew he needed a sibling. It took us a year but finally, Alakai was conceived in June 2016. I took a blue dye test and as it kept getting darker and darker, I couldn’t believe it. I expected a pregnancy exactly like the one I had with Ronin. But every pregnancy is different and this one ended up being different than most.

The True Tales of an Insomniac
Insomnia: Noun. Habitual sleeplessness or the inability to sleep. I am an insomniac. My insomnia is an offshoot, a symptom, of another problem entirely—an indication of not being alright, but that doesn't change the truth of the matter. I am an insomniac.

Omega 3s and 6s
Everyone has heard of omega fatty acids! That’s the reason everyone is recommended to take some kind of fish oil. It’s to get these essential (which means your body can’t make them) fatty acids. I’m only going to talk about Omega 3 and 6 but there are 3, 6, 7, 9 but Omega 3 and 6 are the only ones your body can’t produce, they’re the most common and also the easiest to supplement and understand how they work! Like almost everything else in life, it’s all about the right balance when it comes to these 2 essential fatty acids, so let’s see what the deal is.

Cancer Is a Cancer
Here's the thing: Cancer isn't just a diagnosis, it almost seems like a life sentence—a stamp on the back of your hand from some loud and violent club that you can't scrub off. You can go through all the treatments, have the surgeries, do the tests, pass the tests, but it will never go away.
