Shit to Avoid in the Gym
The image: A bunch of sweaty, muscular, narrow-eyed meatheads lifting dumbells the size of your body. I know what it’s like to be brand new to the gym. I remember how I thought a 23-ounce water bottle would be sufficient, how fresh my shoes were, and how I wouldn’t admit to myself that I had no idea what I was doing.
January Workout
I can't really remember the last time I worked out or even was very physically active. Because of that, the plan I have for this month is SUPER super simple. I found it on Pinterest. The goal of this month's workout out plan is to get me back into gear to start working out on a regular basis and with increasing intensity. Since we are already nearly done with the month, this post will double as my update post. (My first update and workout post got deleted by accident. It's a long story.)

As the new year begins, a lot of you have probably resolved to get back into the gym. That's awesome—you're a winner. However, unless you want the half-naked gorilla man with glutes like watermelon halves to grunt at you, you might need a review in gym etiquette.

Is it Better to Work Out in the Morning or Afternoon?
The other day I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine who is an early riser. She enjoys waking up early, going for a run, and having a nice breakfast before heading to work in the morning. Her alarm is set for five AM every morning to accommodate for her morning routine, which occasionally includes a yoga class or some quality time in the gym instead of on a run. Naturally, as a night owl myself, I was curious to know if there were really any real benefits to going to the gym so early in the morning because, really, why else would someone want to wake up so early in the morning?! I was surprised to learn a few great pros and cons to both cases. Take a look.

I don't really believe in New Year's resolutions. To me, they just seem like they were made to be broken. With that being said, I have decided to really try and commit to bettering myself in the year to come. I am doing this in multiple facets of my life and one of them is through physical fitness and all around healthiness.

I'm here today to talk about my barbell experience, and how it changed my life! As many people think, lifting weights shouldn't be done by women because it makes them 'too' muscular. BUT that isn't my take on it and here's why..
Laura's VocalPublished 6 years ago in LongevityThe Case for Having Someone Else Program Your Workouts
In order to improve as an athlete, we often look for external guidance. Within each sport, there is a coach available to provide one on one assistance through the form of program writing. Here is a case for one to pursue this option.

If you read my first post and are back, thank you for returning. If you are new, a quick intro. I am using this as a resource to track my training as a slightly above-average cross-fitter. I will post my workout each day and provide some insight into the day. I hope that someone else following a similar course can use this as motivation and guidance. Happy reading

I'm not sure what is expected when it comes to these posts. While most people seem to give advice on topics, I’m going to use this probably a little differently. I will post my workout from the day, how I performed, and my insights as things progress. I hope this can give insight to some other Crossfit athletes that are trying to be better than average like me. I am nowhere near being a games athlete, but I do consider myself highly competitive.
Creating the Body You Want
How many times have you seen fitness stars, celebrities, models, or people around you and thought: "I want a stomach like hers, arms like his, thighs like this person, and a butt like them?" We're all guilty of it. I have a few tips and tricks up my sleeve to reach your fitness and body goals to feel great and be where you want to be on the inside and the outside.
How To Reach Your Fitness Goals
Our world is obsessed with image. Everywhere you go there is an astounding exertion of pressure on people to look a certain way, from the people in your favorite bits of media to the everyday advertisements trying to sell you the most banal products; if you don't have washboard abs or a sculpted set of glutes, you are nothing, and you are not worth a single iota of happiness or attention. Apparently, to have any resounding sense of worth to yourself or the society around you, you have to possess the qualities of Barbie and Ken if you want to truly make it anywhere in life.
