There is no scientific basis for the claim that bitter foods are good for your health.

Think about a thousand years ago, when humans were still drinking blood and exploring the world, suddenly eating bitter food, the first reaction is probably: poison!

Plants also think that to prevent being eaten by animals or humans, bitterness is a means of self-protection against external environmental aggression.

In summer, when appetite is low, eating bitter food can stimulate the digestive capacity of the spleen and stomach and enhance appetite for a change.

But nutritionally speaking, there is nothing special about bitter foods compared to other sweet, sour, spicy, and salty foods, and they can be eaten as healthy vegetables, without the need for many additional health functions.

There's a reason why moms and dads are more likely to eat "bitter". A study in the journal Pediatrics found that genes affect the perception of bitterness and that sensitivity to bitterness decreases with age.

So, maybe one day you too may love bitter melon.

If these foods turn bitter, be sure not to eat them

Sweet potatoes, potatoes, nuts, melons (loofah, gourd, gourd, melon, etc.), such foods become bitter and contain "cucurbitacin", which may lead to food poisoning.

Eat ginger in summer, to ensure health.

Mom: eat radish in winter and ginger in summer, no need for doctors to prescribe

Nutrition Jun: summer radish eat ginger in winter?

Ginger contains curcumin, which gives a spicy taste. In the past, it was believed that hot food should be eaten on the day of the three volcanoes to get rid of the dampness in the body.

The nutritional content of ginger is not low, 100 grams of ginger contains 27 mg of calcium, 295 mg of potassium, and 44 mg of magnesium.

Ginger also contains some special enzymes and volatile oils that have health benefits when purified, but that doesn't mean that eating a few slices of ginger will have the same effect.

Overall, ginger is a healthy food, whether you use it as a seasoning or combine it with milk to make delicious ginger-infused milk.

But eating ginger need not be limited to a certain season, year-round, day or night can be, eat ginger at night, than arsenic.

It is important to note that you should not eat too much ginger at a time, otherwise the body absorbs too much ginger, in the process of excretion by the kidneys will stimulate the kidneys, and produce dry mouth, sore throat, constipation, and other symptoms.

In addition, ginger rotten should not be eaten. Ginger will produce many pathogenic bacteria after deterioration, including the very toxic substance safrole, which may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, and other adverse reactions after human absorption, and in serious cases may cause liver cell degeneration and then carcinogenesis.

Drink cold drinks, cold into the body?

Mom: summer do not eat ice cream / drink ice water, beware of the cold in the body!

Nutrition Jun: Do you save it for winter to eat?

The ice collected in winter, stored until summer, chilled wine, only the noble class can enjoy.

Today, chilled food is readily available, but we are told that we cannot eat ice, how can we tolerate this?

The expression "cold invasion" is a traditional folk saying. In science, only viruses, bacteria, and mycoplasma (chlamydia) can invade the human body.

In the hot summer, appropriate eating cold drinks can prevent heat and cooling and does not produce harm.

As for some people feel easy to eat cold drinks after gastrointestinal discomfort, some may be due to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); some are due to food hygiene problems, resulting in bacterial infections; and some are due to eating too much too cold, depending on the individual.

As always, just pay attention to the degree, no need to completely avoid it.

Note on eating ice

Do not eat too much at a time

Do not eat too cold, so as not to cause stomach cramps

Do not alternate between hot and cold to challenge your stomach and intestines

Eat less cold drinks containing a lot of sugar and high fat, will grow fat

Summer practice three volts, sweat detoxification?

Old mother: cover sweat, detoxification!

Nutrition Jun: mm...... will get heatstroke it ......

Three nine and three volts for the coldest and hottest time of the year, so some people believe that in the nine cold winter and hot summer exercise, more strong and healthy, to prevent disease.

It is worth encouraging proper physical exercise in both winter and summer, but it makes little sense to try to detoxify your body by sweating a lot.

On the one hand, sweating is only a means of regulating body temperature, the body feels hot, sweating away the heat, cooling down, and detoxification have nothing to do with it.

Moreover, there are not that many toxins to be detoxified in the body. Sweat 99% of the ingredients are water, other ingredients only account for less than 1%, these ingredients are also basically not related to the "poison".

In addition, sweat is not better, if a lot of sweat is in the hot summer, may lead to dehydration, leading to dermatitis.

It is important to note that you should not drink a lot of water immediately after exercise, a small number of times a small mouthful of light salt water, or sports drinks.
