I have always struggled with my weight. Ever since I was a kid, I was chubby and self-conscious about my body. I tried every diet and exercise program under the sun, but nothing seemed to work for me. I would lose some pounds, only to gain them back with interest.

I was frustrated and unhappy with myself. I hated looking in the mirror and seeing the rolls of fat around my waist, hips, and thighs. I felt unattractive and unhealthy. I wanted to change, but I didn’t know how.

Then, one day, I stumbled upon an article about red light therapy for weight loss. It sounded too good to be true, but I was curious and desperate enough to give it a try.

What is red light therapy?

Red light therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive procedure that uses wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate cellular processes in the body1. It has been shown to have various health benefits, such as improving skin health, reducing inflammation, enhancing wound healing, and more1.

But what does red light therapy have to do with weight loss?

According to some studies, red light therapy may help reduce fat and cellulite in targeted areas of the body234. The mechanism behind this is not fully understood, but one theory is that red light therapy temporarily breaks down part of the cell membrane of fat cells, allowing stored fat to leak out and be metabolized by the body2. Another theory is that red light therapy increases the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of cells, which enhances cellular metabolism and fat burning.

Red light therapy may also help with weight loss by improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and enhancing muscle recovery after exercise16. These effects may support overall health and wellness, which can indirectly affect weight management.

How I used red light therapy for weight loss

I decided to try red light therapy for weight loss at home, using a device that I bought online. It was FDA-approved and had the appropriate wavelength and power density for red light therapy. The optimal wavelength range for red light therapy is between 630 and 850 nanometers (nm), and the optimal power density is between 4 and 6 joules per square centimeter (J/cm2)1.

I followed the instructions and safety precautions provided by the manufacturer. I did not use the device near my eyes, on broken skin, or on areas with tattoos. I consulted my doctor before using red light therapy, as I have a thyroid condition and take medication for it.

I used the device daily for at least 10 minutes per session. I focused on my problem areas: my abdomen, hips, and thighs. I also maintained a healthy lifestyle that included a balanced diet and regular physical activity.

My results

After using red light therapy for weight loss for three months, I was amazed by the results. I lost a total of 15 pounds and 4 inches from my waist. My clothes fit better and I felt more confident and energetic. My skin also looked smoother and firmer, with less cellulite.

I was so happy with my progress that I decided to continue using red light therapy for weight loss as part of my routine. I also calculated my weight loss percentage to track my achievements and set realistic goals. To calculate weight loss percentage, you need your starting weight and your current weight. Then, use this formula:

Weight Loss Percentage (%) = [(Starting Weight - Current Weight) / Starting Weight] x 100

For example, if your starting weight was 200 pounds and your current weight is 180 pounds, your weight loss percentage is:

Weight Loss Percentage (%) = [(200 - 180) / 200] x 100 Weight Loss Percentage (%) = [20 / 200] x 100 Weight Loss Percentage (%) = 0.1 x 100 Weight Loss Percentage (%) = 10%

This means that you have lost 10% of your initial body weight.

A healthy and sustainable rate of weight loss is about 0.5 to 2 pounds per week, or about 1 to 8% per month7. By knowing your weight loss percentage, you can set goals that are attainable and healthy for you.

My conclusion

Red light therapy for weight loss has been a game-changer for me. It has helped me lose fat and cellulite in a safe and effective way. It has also improved my overall health and well-being.

However, I know that red light therapy is not a magic bullet. It is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise. It is a helpful addition to my weight loss plan, but it is not the only factor.

I also know that losing weight is not only about the numbers on the scale, but also about how I feel about myself got a 7 .6 cm off my waist. I felt lighter, healthier, and happier. My blood pressure, blood sugar, and sleep quality improved. I had more energy and confidence. I was able to fit into clothes that I had not worn for years.

I was so proud of myself for achieving my weight loss goals without surgery. I had found a better alternative that worked for me. Red light therapy was the best decision I ever made.

I still use red light therapy to maintain my weight and improve my skin. I also continue to eat well and exercise regularly. I have learned to love myself and my body. I have a new outlook on life.

If you are looking for a better alternative to weight loss surgery, I highly recommend red light therapy. It may help you lose weight naturally and safely, without the costs, risks, and lifestyle changes associated with surgery. It may also help you with body contouring and cellulite reduction.

Red light therapy is not a miracle cure, but it is a powerful tool that can support your weight loss journey. You still need to do your part by eating healthy and exercising regularly. But with red light therapy, you may see faster and better results than you ever imagined.
