How I Noticed My Bad Routine

Growing up, I was always used to having a daily routine until it was time to go to bed. Over the last five years, I would say my mind, body, and physical health has led me down a path of no routine at all. I started to see myself gaining more weight, having less energy in activities, and the things I used to get finished in a day at work would take a week or two to complete.

When it came to my physical health: I would go to the doctors, like the average Joe. My doctor would say the same thing; here are some tips to change here and there give it about a month blah blah blah! Cool, time would pass, and at least a few weeks or so and I would feel so energized like the pink-little bunny. My pace was rapidly moving would get done tend to help out other people.

This pattern went over for a while. Since I was unsure of what was going on, I decided to self-evaluate and look within myself. I find a book here and there about healing your mind, getting spirituality back into your life, the next keto diet. Everything I thought would help change me and make me feel better. Honestly, it did nothing had to give me a hard talk one day. I asked, “What’s wrong?”

How I Saw Myself

When I looked into the mirror, I did not like what I saw. I realized then I had to change what I was doing in my life. I was creating more chaos by drinking every day and thinking I could still get the job done the next day. However, it eventually turned into a week or longer. The people around me made me feel worthless, so I thought "that was what I was". Negativity brought on negative energy and failed goals. I did not understand that at all, I felt as though I was living life.

The Change Within Me

Two years passed when I moved back home and started going to therapy. I had to get help for myself; I was overwhelmed, stressed, and doing too much. My body was telling me to stop, however, "I ignored it". We all have done this at some point in our life! The pain I went through was so bad I could barely get out of bed at times. When your body hurts, you don’t know when the pain will leave or how long it may last. Every night I went from migraines to lower back pain, the symptoms went on and on. No amount of medicine or body shots could heal or fix this.

Six months later I decided to start listening to meditations and changing my diet. My therapist wanted to try something different. Of course, I was skeptical because everything else was a hit and miss. For my first month, I would only do about 15–30 minutes a day working out and meditating. My results: I could feel a little pressure start going away in my body. The feeling of being able to relax was great. I could feel less pain in my body and could tell that my stress level was going down. My blood pressure wasn't as high which was a big factor in the change too. I knew the meditation started working after a few weeks. I had decided to keep this up, and it lasted for over three years now.

The Final Results

I managed to get myself back into a daily routine where I was reading books, lifting weights, and even educating others on how to follow my steps. At first I thought this was impossible until I saw how much I could assist others and what their results were. I'd get lots of compliments and thanks.

Before my drastic change, I felt like a hermit stuck in the house. Now I'm consistently working on myself and expanding who I am and my true potentials. I have stopped drinking, my weight has improved and went going down tremendously, finally my stress level has become manageable.

I had decided to only deal with people when I had time to work my schedule and get the things I needed to take care of done first. I was in the habit of helping everyone else before taking care of me. Giving support here and not leaving any time for me to relax that my body shut down.

The Conclusions & Lessons I had To Learn

Once I started to focus more on my pain, it decreased. Since I added exercising and walking to my day, it helped. The little things over time helped me reduce the amount of stress I had in my life. Reading for me was never hard; I just had to make time for it. I had to change my thinking pattern and get more positive people around me. I know I had to do better with my life and see more of my potentials. I found things that interested me.

When I applied self-care to my life, it allowed me to be happy. And stop looking at myself as being worthless. I know today I am worthy, unique, and have a lot to be grateful for. Our minds and body play an important role and how we live. Having a self-care mindset helped me see and make the appropriate changes I had to in my life. My mind was all over the place where I wasn’t thinking clearly and making impulse decisions. I had roadblocks that existed. The more I started to heal myself inside and figure out my goals for the future. My life changed for the better. I am an entrepreneur with my own business and love to write about all my experiences good and bad. I am finally able to express myself to the world in a positive way.
