Your journey toward understanding happiness begins now.
It is not an easy journey. No matter how much I may try to convince you otherwise, happiness is not an emotion that can simply be found—it is one that must be cultivated. True happiness is the unwavering understanding that you alone are the steward of your emotions, and that no person, circumstance, or hardship has the authority to steal your peace.
When you embrace happiness, you unlock forgotten chambers of your soul—parts of yourself you may have buried beneath fear, pain, or years of self-preservation. Within those hidden places lives your higher self, patiently waiting for you to arrive. And when you are finally ready, you will meet the person you have always been beneath the noise: the version of yourself whose love flows so freely that it spills into every corner of your life.
If you haven't already, thank yourself for being here.
Congratulate yourself for surviving another day and for choosing to be present in this very moment. Take a moment to appreciate the millions of cells that sacrificed themselves during your conception so that you could exist. Understand this deeply:
You were never a mistake.
It was you who fought to be here. It is you who has endured every sunrise and every storm that has followed. It is you who is worthy of every breath you draw. From your first breath to your last, you were always meant to exist.
Revel in the quiet strength of your own resolve and recognize that love for yourself is not selfish—it is the foundation upon which every meaningful life is built.
Believe it or not, your very first breath was probably terrifying.
Most newborns enter this world screaming. They cry because everything is unfamiliar. They know nothing of language, fear, joy, or love. They are tiny, fragile sparks of life—soft, vulnerable, and utterly dependent on the world around them.
Then something extraordinary happens.
Someone lifts them from the only home they have ever known, makes sure their lungs are filled with air, and gently places them into the arms of the one person whose heartbeat they already recognize.
Their mother.
When I imagine what happiness must have first felt like, I return to that moment.
I imagine the tenderness in her hands. The softness of her voice as she whispers, "Oh, my baby."
Her smile is not born merely from seeing her child for the first time. It is the culmination of months of hope, sacrifice, pain, and anticipation finally made real. And in that same instant, the child experiences something just as profound.
For the very first time, they are loved before they have done anything to earn it.
No accomplishments.
No achievements.
No expectations.
Only unconditional love.
Whether we remember it or not, our first experience in this world is often the purest truth we will ever know:
You are loved.
Did you picture that moment?
Beautiful, wasn't it?
Did you smile?
I hope you did.
The pursuit of happiness is not a destination—it is a direction. It requires movement. It asks you to keep walking, even when your steps are small.
Happiness is energy.
It reveals itself in a smile, echoes through laughter, lives within an embrace, and lingers inside a genuine compliment. It can be seen, heard, felt, and shared. At any moment throughout your day, happiness quietly presents itself, waiting only to be noticed.
So why do so many people tune it out?
Why do they surrender their joy to cold fries, unfashionable clothes, traffic jams, rude strangers, or the endless parade of inconveniences that life inevitably delivers? Perhaps they have narrowed their vision until they see the world through nothing more than a pinhole of negativity.
You've met these people.
Maybe, at times, you've even been one of them.
The simple answer is this:
They have forgotten the power they possess.
Every person carries within them the ability to create joy, radiate love, and brighten the lives of those around them. Yet many become disconnected from that deeper self. Some believe they are undeserving of happiness. Others have been conditioned—through pain, disappointment, or the voices of others—to believe suffering is simply the price of living.
Eventually, they surrender the one thing that has always belonged to them:
The choice.
The choice to seek happiness.
The choice to forgive.
The choice to love themselves.
Without that choice, negativity gathers like a snowball rolling downhill. It grows heavier with every passing thought until it becomes an abyss filled with resentment, judgment, paranoia, self-doubt, anger, bitterness, and fear.
But that isn't you...
Is it?
You are a being of light.
That light is not something you must earn—it already exists within you. It is the quiet pulse of your higher self calling you home.
Can you feel it?
What color is it?
Where does it live inside your body?
Personally, I experience mine as a glowing green sphere of pulsating energy resting between my pubic bone and my navel. During meditation, I focus on that space until the outside world grows quiet. In that silence, my conscious mind and my higher self begin to speak the same language.
Your light may reside behind your third eye. It may rest at the base of your spine. Perhaps it glows within your heart.
There is no map that can tell you where to find it.
The only way to discover its presence is to become still.
Sit in silence.
Breathe.
Meditate.
Listen.
Then, for the first time in a long time, allow yourself the opportunity to reconnect with the person you have been all along.
