February 17th - Daily Tarot Reading

A three-card reading

By Jason Almirez-TaglianettiPublished about a year ago 3 min read

I hope everyone has had a great week. The weekend is almost upon us, so I hope everyone has some good things planned. It’s been extremely cold here in Arizona, so I’m not sure what kind of weekend we’ll get, but I’m hoping to get outside at some point.

This morning’s reading starts with the Knight of Wands. In our three-card spread, this card is our situation card. When I do these daily readings, I usually think about today’s date, which day in the week it is, etc. So the knight of wands is an interesting card for today.

The knight sits atop a rearing horse. Its front hooves are off the ground. The knight looks a little unsure, but he has no choice. The horse is going for it. He carries a wand in his right hand, his power hand. His horse is read, which is the color of passion, vitality, and courage. It’s also a fiery color. And wands are connected to the element of fire. Knights are messengers. Today’s message is one of optimism and creativity. This knight is telling us to be creative today. To take action. To be involved in whatever today brings us. Even if you’re not feeling 100% today, if you’ve got a meeting, be fully engaged and involved.

Our advice card in today’s spread is the Three of Swords. A big red heart sits in the middle of the card, hovering mid-air. Three swords pierce the heart. There is a cloudy sky, and it appears to be raining. Anytime water is present in a card; it symbolizes our emotions. The swords represent our intellect, the conscious mind. The part of our brain we control. This card usually speaks to us of a breakup of some kind. This is the loss card. But it involves our mind and not our hearts. And in this position. I feel like this card is telling us to let go of something. Perhaps we had big ideas for this past week. And they didn’t pan out the way we wanted them to. Maybe we were feeling awesome about something this week. Something creative, something we were passionate about. Perhaps it didn’t go as we had hoped. Here, the three swords is telling us to let go of it today. Ease your mind and let it slip away from you. Letting go is not always easy. Whether it’s a relationship, a project, or thoughts weighing us down. Letting go is tough. But it’s necessary. In this case, it’s not as bad as it may seem. But whatever is on your mind that worries you or is causing you stress, let it go today. It’s not good for you to hang on to it.

Our last card in this spread is our takeaway card. This card gives us something to think about for the day. Sometimes it’s related to the last two cards; sometimes, it’s not. Today the card that appears is the Knight of Swords. Another knight for today means another message is coming our way. Unlike the knight of wands, this knight is impulsive and reckless. He’s charging into the situation before he’s understood what’s happening. The card pictures a knight with his sword drawn. His steed, charing with him into a battle perhaps. He has a very intense look on his face. The horse looks back at the knight as if questioning his actions.

This card is all about impulsivity but in a dangerous way. It warns us not to be so quick to act. It is Friday, and the weekend is here, but there is still a whole day before we can enjoy the weekend. This card asks us to slow down a little today. Get through the day, and then you can party and celebrate.

Thanks for reading today. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. If you have, please leave me a comment. If this reading resonated with you, also let me know in the comments. If it didn’t, maybe there is someone in your life who might need to hear this today. Please share it with them. Thanks again for reading, and have a great day and weekend!
