Central Asian glaciers are melting more quickly than before.
Patches of glaciers typically lose ice. The records fill in one area at a time, with some mountain ranges suffering while others remain stable. In 2025, that pattern broke. Ice loss in Central Asia reached previously unheard-of levels, causing devastation to almost all mountain ranges simultaneously.

Are Vocal Promoting Themselves Enough?
Introduction When i was tempted to join Vocal I remeber seeing advertisements for a writing platform where I could win huge amounts of money if I subscribed to their model, and you know I can resist anything but temptation, so I joined up, and while there have been times that Vocal have annoyed the hell out of me, like when you get entries to challenges that break the rules like this. I am not blaming the creator, and it can be easily corrected, but I am blaming Vocal because some should not have placed. This failed basic rules but was given a Top Story and a Challenge placement.

At A Loss (There Is A Light Always Shining)
Introduction I have done a few of these posts before and hopefully, it may help others in the same situation. It is a sort of writer's block but not writer's block in that I want to write something but I want to avoid the areas that I have recently written in so that is Fiction, Vocal Challenges, Music, Books, Literature and Poetry.

The most traumatizing years of my life. Content Warning.
This story is about the most truamatizing years of my life. It's my hope that anyone who reads this never goes through such things but if you have or know people who have the hardest thing to do to get through it is being able to share the story with anyone else. Especially when you can't find someone to be able to help you. True survivors are the ones who live through this stuff because it is sometimes not talked about. It happens and when it does some people are too ashamed to speak the truth about it.

A Tribute to Don Hewitt: October 2009
Good morning, and welcome. To Marilyn and the rest of the family, it is an honor to begin this tribute to the great Don Hewitt. We miss him. He was an extraordinary man with an infectious presence, and I loved being around him. I should admit right from the start that, in the beginning, taking over his job was not very good for our relationship. I understood why. It was his baby, and walking away from it was hard.

The Side Hustle I Thought Would Change My Life. Top Story - May 2026.
Decisions to Make The hardest part of writing this, since I knew ahead of time that I wanted to write it, was trying to decide which side hustle to write about. Yes, there were several over the last many years. So, I’ve chosen not to write this about just one and instead to just give you some of the examples that I’ve come across and left. I truly thought each of them was going to change my life and my financial situation. I was wrong.

They Told Me I Don't Belong Here.
By Dr. Elham Neisani Samani, OB/GYN I have delivered hundreds of babies. I have held the hands of women in their most terrifying and most joyful moments. I have spent my entire adult life becoming the kind of doctor who shows up — completely, compassionately, and without hesitation — for my patients. What I never imagined was that one day, bleeding and pregnant and alone in a call room at 21 weeks, I would be the one who needed someone to show up for me. No one did.
