love
All you need is Love, and Love is all you need.
What is Love?
Love is kind and trust. Love is compromise. Love is unconditional. There are many types of love. Love for your children is never ending and doing anything in order to keep them safe. Love for your partner is trusting them to do what they want and trusting them to think of you or your relationship. Love for your friends is unconditional supporting. Love for your family is just plain unconditional. They raised you and made you who you are today. Love for your family is taking advantage of the fact that they will always be there, because no matter what, they love and support you. Love is realizing you are taking advantage of them and finding a way to say thank you and show your appreciation.

I Still Breathe
Thinking back to my teen years in the 1960’s, I’m reminded of how easy life seemed to be. There were, of course, consequences for our actions, brought swiftly to judgement by the adults and authority figures surrounding us. I always struggled, as a teen, to maintain a balance between obeying and disobeying, and used as my guide, papa’s constant admonitions to not be a sheep.

Denouement among the lilies. Top Story - September 2021.
February for our first moment. We’re sitting in a dive bar in Camden Town. It smells of stale beer and gomme syrup; the floor coated by a thin veneer of both. Buzzed from cheap cocktails, you’re staring inquisitively at me. “Are you an optimist or a pessimist?” you ask. “Neither, I’m a realist.” I answer. We laugh. Later, a rushed kiss at the bottom of an escalator.

Finding home
Where is home? A question beating through my veins as I lose parts of myself and find others that require hiding. What is home? There’s no google maps for life so there’s no way to know if I’m on a journey or wondering pointlessly. Do I have a destination of security and acceptance? Or must I settle for pockets of time where community and peace are a little stronger for a moment? These pockets of golden light provide hope like photosynthesis. They’re the only reason I have some inkling into what home is, a starting point for investigation.

Square One
There are seven songs that always remind me of the man I love. I noticed today while listening to them that they represent the emotional journey I've been on regarding our 'relationship'. I write relationship in quotes because it's complicated...like all great love stories. I'm being sarcastic- it is not a great love story...it's not even a great love. Whatever hold this man has on me will not be relinquished. I've tried. But I've reached a point in my life where I'm ok with this finally.
