The Wrong Partner
It's March 15, 1920. The Millers talk, and laugh while they dine. The door is open letting in the heat, and the curtains are drawn letting in the sun. In walks Mary Brown. She is as beautiful as the light from the sun was bright. Her hair hung to her bosom, and today it was in two braids. Her entry caught the attention of the son, Johnathan, instantly.

The loves that made me who I am
I'm sure I am not the only person who has read that article that states you experience 3 types of love in life. I personally am a firm believer that you have to go through multiple love experiences to figure out exact what type of love you need in your life. But I am also a firm believer that the type of love you think you need changes as your life progresses. I've dated multiple men in life ... some more impacting then others. Some heart breaks were easy some the pain lasted months even years. Each one of my relationships have taught me something though and i value them each solely for the lessons I've learned.

An Open Letter to my Boyfriend
Dear Boyfriend, I know things have been really rough for the both of us lately but it does not mean that this is where we give up. If anything it should make us stronger. This is just the first hump in our journey of life together. This pandemic has taken one hell of a tole on us. Travel restrictions making it really hard for us to see each other. Making it so we couldn't even spend our first holiday together. I'm thankful though that we are both safe and healthy. I don't know what I would do if I were to lose you so soon especially to Covid.

Breakfast Willow
The willow tree rooted deep in the marsh next to the water as it sways slowly in the lush moist wind. If everyone were willow trees, life would be so simple because they bend without breaking and they can survive nature’s most deadliest catastrophes in the utter most instances that even the devil wouldn’t sum up the reasons to create chaos.

Lost & Found
Had you met me years ago, I would've told you that I was in love. There was almost always someone I was vying for to fill the cold space on the other side of the bed. What neither of us would've known was that I wouldn't understand how to open my heart fully until today.

Oh! Santa Baby, Episode: 1
Dear Readers, My Name is Jeniffer Allistar and I live in New York City. "The Big Apple," as some like to refer it. A city of possibilites and endless oppurtunities. Art, Theatre and Music. I am a writter for a local magazine and aspiring authour, with five different titles underway and absolutely zero published. Story of my life! My job and career take up most of my time, but hey I'm not complaining. This is the life and career I dreamt of when I left my small town of.... almost four years ago to attend NYU for english literature. I've got it all. A good job. Family. Friends. I'm just missing out on someting a little special and this year is going to be the year I find Mr. Right. I have been so focused on my carrer that I haven't even given the thought of having someone special in my life before.Until now! My best friend from college just got engaged to her highschool sweet heart and are planning a Christmas wedding. Her and my mother are super close. I consider her like my sister from another mister, however, with Christmas cheer in the air and wedding fever, my mother seems adamant to poke her nose into my love life. Which, is super surprising and out of character for her because she has always supported me in my career and my life goals. To be honest a husband and family were the last thing on the list. The plan was to graduate college. Land a job at a magazine. Spend ten-years starting my career all while publishing novels and books. Before I started to even entertain the notion of finding a partner and starting a family. I am still at the top of my list, but for some strange reason my friends wedding is making my mother think of things like grandchildren, my own wedding, baby showers. You should see the corporate style proposal my mother emailed me last night at 1 am. With places to mingle with other singles. Holiday blind date hosted events. Apparently a lot of people search for someone to spend the holidays with. It is ridiculous. Has anyone ever had to deal with an over-bearing mother. I swear if a man were to come to her door with a goat as a dowery, who had a prospective career. My mother would push my protests to the side and the wedding would already be planned, arranged. I can picture it now my mother dragging me down the aisle with some random stranger, with a goat beside him saying the vows and I-do's. Sending me a corporate style emailing me deadlines to produce her grandchildren. It is utterly embarrassing and down right rude. Am I right? OR am I right? Anyways, Ladies and Gentlemen this just in. I have just received an email notification about my attendance to a blind date group at a local coffee bar. Followed by a text message from my dear, dear, sweet over bearing mother that attendance is mandatory and non-negotiable. Well folks I will have to cut this blog update short as I am going to be dealing with my mother.Mantra of the day. To attend or not to attend. I mean I have been entertaining the idea, but its the over bearing mother and outright demands to fall-in-line that have me in over-drive to put the brakes on this whole situation, however, I wouldn't want to disappoint mother dearest. Blah! With love from New York City Jennifer Allistar Until Next-Time. Don't forget to leave me some love in the comment section below. I could really use some advice and inspiration. I will see you when I see you.Ta-Ta For now!

Jack & Tammy Are Sleeping
It’s 3:49am and Tammy and Jack are sleeping. Sarah is in the living room keeping herself busy. There’s a noise in the darkness that wakes Tammy up. It hasn’t stirred Jack, he’s still on his back, fast asleep, peaceful expression on his face. Tammy observes. She smiles at his nose hairs shivering with each exhale. She wiggles out of his grasp and goes to the bathroom down the hall.

How to tell if you found the "One"
New love is so exciting. Those early feelings you experience as you get to know someone can be overwhelming. As things progress you find yourself exiting the “honeymoon phase” and are entering a new stage of your relationship that can be just as exciting and well terrifying. This new phase in the relationship is a time when the personas we have been keeping up start to fade, and we start to really get to know one another. You and your partner are getting comfortable with one another, the need to constantly impress is fading and you both start showing one another the “real authentic you”. This is a time when you start building deeper, more meaningful bonds grounded in genuine love, respect and trust.
