Signs in the Sky
What is your zodiac sign? I am a Virgo by birth but in actuality I believe my sign is leaning more towards a Leo. I think the role of the zodiac can teach us a lot about ourselves and our attitudes. If you really want to figure out your birth chart, try downloading an app called “Co-Star”. This plots down a summarization of things of where you are placed in the zodiac chart as well of your signs in comparable to the Solar System. As far as I am concerned, the chart will need the time and place of your birthday.

Mahalo, Malama the Aina
“Put it against your ear, you’ll hear it,” Amber told me. She handed me a conch shell and I didn’t believe it. I compared the waves slowly pushing against the sandy shore. I put my ear against the hard, white, oblong-shaped shell, and heard the soft wind easily blowing off inside of it; the ocean. It was her 9th birthday and her family invited me to Punalu’u Beach Park. I didn’t get her much of anything this year besides some cookies my mom had baked the night before because I needed to save lunch money for the rest of the week. The cost for school lunch just got raised to a dollar this year, and I wouldn’t want to add another bill for Mommy dearest. As I dragged myself in the water, I chased after her with the grainy sand against my bare feet then SPLASH! I fell forward with my face landing in the majestic and shallow waters near the shore. “Bra! You so Dakine” She laughed at me pulling me up. “Can we go eat now? I stay hungry!” I yelled.

The Map of Heathen
Peter entered from the corner of my room and yelled, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Mom!” He looked even more handsome with his new haircut. He was about 5’ 7”, light complexion, and had hazel eyes just like his Dad who had passed away last year in 2107. It had been weeks since I last seen him, and he is growing up so fast. “The cost of roses was too expensive, but I managed to get you one!” Since the world was almost extinct of plants, the cost to get flowers was more than buying a cell phone. “So, we have this whole day to ourselves what do you want me to fix?” Peter asked me. He became my personal handyman and due to my old age of 71, I cannot even open a jar of pickles anymore. “When are you ever going to find another wife?” I asked him and he simply smiled and told me that his divorce with Pat scarred him.

Freedom is a game of survival
Freedom is not free in the eyes of greed The eyes, a complex organ implanted in the head to see the world. It’s used for a great assortment of things. A calculation of all the wonders it perceives in a world full of amusement. Have you figured it out yet? What the eyes see the mind feels, and what the mind feels the body reacts.

Black-Out Awakening
AWAKE FROM THE BLACK-OUT, NORMAN BATES “WAKE UP, SUNSHINE” I have given up the desire of liquor for good. The intoxicant in which relaxes the mind through the depths of reality should be the savior for people. I used to drink to relax because the anxiety of being surrounded by strangers is not natural for me. Drinking made me open up more because beneath the surface I was uptight. I used to judge everyone I see and meet thinking I am wasting my time because our conversations weren’t going anywhere. Drinking helped me let loose especially if I seen someone interesting I wanted to talk to.

Our Nights Desire
My life isn’t perfect. Even if I imagined the ugliest cracks of what perfection might be, the person molding it, isn’t the person hoped perfection would be. I didn’t ask for a lot of things and I didn’t want anything big in particular, but the experience of it all had led me to want more bigger and better things.

Breakfast Willow
The willow tree rooted deep in the marsh next to the water as it sways slowly in the lush moist wind. If everyone were willow trees, life would be so simple because they bend without breaking and they can survive nature’s most deadliest catastrophes in the utter most instances that even the devil wouldn’t sum up the reasons to create chaos.
