dating
All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
Philosophy, Wine and Dine.
Maggie sat slumped in her chair. One elbow resting on the table in front of her and a cheek resting in her hand. She occasionally feigned interest in her date’s ramblings but it was difficult to listen to someone as self-involved as Dane. He seemed to fancy himself quite the philosopher too. Maggie had always thought philosophy to be laughable but the absolute drivel Dane were spouting was just plain insufferable.

A Thousand Threads
The woman peers, seemingly mesmerised, into the flickering light cast by the table candle. Lifting her glass to sip finely-aged Merlot delicately, her eyes rove the bar, resolutely looking past the doorway in case he enters and she’s caught watching the street like a fresh debutante on her first night out of her parents' house. Instead, her gaze returns to the candle, and she reaches out a finger to twirl the delicate holder, face pensive.

Un Brindisi (a toast): Here's to trying it, Oncemore.
Every warning bell in her body seemed to be lighting up at random. Tiny beads of salt laden sweat assaulted her freshly washed skin from the inside out. The irritation rose to her throat forcing her back into the shower for a second rinse, just to cool her nerves.

The Windy Proposal
Around me was the buzzing sound of people talking and loud music. I could feel my hands clamming up and my cheeks flushing red. My body temperature was rising despite the cool breeze. I wiped away the sweat from my forehead and took a deep breath. This was it. I thought. The day I had been awaiting yet dreading ever since I found the picture that got my attention online. After such a long time I had found comfort in the distance, but at the same time suspicion if it was even real or if it was a lie. Going with my gut instinct I had finally decided to take it further even though I didn't feel ready. It had been three years, and that was more than long enough for me.

Impressions
When you look in the mirror, it’s not really you. It just an image of the reality your brain processes from each of your eyes. I couldn’t help my mind from whirring through this fact and onto other tangents as I stroked the mascara brush over my lashes, as I traced the lip gloss onto my mouth, as I frowned and smiled to check the result.

Black Bird Wine, Blackberry Kiss
“You look the same,” she said. I can’t help but hear the accusation of the years in between our sightings. We had dated in college. Well, “dated” is a strong word - we had slept together and spent a few meals together for a couple of months while I was in college, but we never actually went out on a date. She’s my best friend’s sister, and my best friend, Sarai, still doesn’t know about it.

Magical Merlot
It is finally the weekend and I, Allie Carter, am beyond ready for some down time with my couch, T.V, and a bottle of wine. I have become predictable these days. If I am not spending time with my best friend, Carly, then I am usually at work or in my apartment binge watching some television show.

Date or Dare
Bittersweet, like the first sip of a glass of Merlot, that is how Serenity would describe this date. Too good to be true or unexpected would be another way to describe it. She did not even want to go on this date but her best friend, Rain, insisted she get out more. Serenity remembered the conversation all too well, it did happen only a week ago.
