All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
Imdalia
Io held the bottle of merlot gingerly in the palm of her hand, knocking lightly on the doorframe to the balcony with her free hand. She was nervous, and for good reason. She'd not gotten off on a very good footing with her fiance, King Anrinar. It was an arranged marriage, a political one. A union between humans and the Imdalians, a race of aliens that had invaded and taken over sixteen years ago. The marriage was meant to be a show of peace.

The Windy Forest
He was bathed and shaved, as he quickly pulled on a pair of his jeans. He located a shirt and pour a splash of light cologne on his hands, he slapped the sides of his neck, whistling under his breath. Then he walked out of his cabin down the hill across the road to her cabin. Along the side of the road overgrown crepe myrtles bucked a little from a sudden breeze and scattered their confetti of purple flowers.

Tech Support
Shaun Miles walks into the Tech Deck with a laptop bag over his shoulder and eyes darting around like he’s trying to avoid being seen. He heads straight to the tech support desk in the back as fast as he can without running, his black mask hiding the shame written all over his face. He stands there for a moment, rocking back and forth while looking around for someone to help him. He runs his fingers over his long brown ponytail and adjusts the band at the back of his head. He tightens the band and sighs, tapping his fingers on the counter. As he turns to leave, Bridget Conner comes out from behind the curtain in the back. She cracks her neck from side to side as she walks up to the desk in front of Shaun. She adjusts her green mask and her brown glasses, then puts her long black hair up in a ponytail before smiling at Shaun.

Be My Barbie Girl
“I’ve had the best time with you tonight,” Michael said and kissed Sally. They had just had their first proper date, despite speaking to each other for over six months. Because of the pandemic, they could not meet each other until now, but they had spent hours talking to each other during the lockdown. And because of that, Sally felt she already knew him inside out.

No Prince Charming
Everything about him spelled trouble. We see his type all the time at the restaurant; cocky young men in pastel-colored polo shirts, wearing their white male privilege as casually as the designer jacket draped over their shoulders. His winter tan spoke of Daddy’s vacation lodge at Aspen, his gold Rolex deliberately oversized and gaudy. I could sense the waitresses tensing as they watched to see where he was seated, knowing to expect lewd remarks and paltry tips if they were the unlucky winner of tonight’s douchebag lottery. He ran a hand through his bleach blonde highlights, flashing an expensive and predatory smile at the hostess. She gestured him towards the bay window, our prime date night seating area. I wondered if he’d slid her a twenty, or whether he’d just namedropped her into submission.

Valentine's Day... Oh goody. Today is Valentine's Day. My favorite day of the year. Every year I watch all the women in my office get cheesy love notes, cheap chocolate, and overpriced flowers that will die in a week. I mean if guys actually cared wouldn't they spice it up a little?

Dream Date
As the waiter made his way through the busy restaurant, Alice and Michael took their seats. “Can I get you each something to drink?” asked the waiter, as he reached the handsome young couple. The pair barely registered his question, unable to keep their eyes off of one and another.
