Till Death Do Us Reunite
I stood staring at the base of the steps where the dark brown stain remained. It had been nine years since the sudden and startling passing of my beloved wife. The mark in the hardwood served as a reminder of the manner in which her body lay curled at the base of the steps, a pool of blood around her head like a sickly crimson halo. I still find myself staring at the spot picturing the blood that oozed from her head wound, seeking heavenly answers as to why it had to happen. It still felt like a surreal nightmare, a ghostly reminder of her presence. From that day on my life felt stagnant as I rehearsed the same staged directions and repeated the same lines. I didn’t have the heart to pack away her possessions, they still remained posed around the house as if they too were waiting for her return. I developed a belief in ghosts as I seeked out signs that her spirit remained in our home, hoping she would reach out to me. At the time friends awkwardly gathered attempting to find the words that would bring the utmost comfort, only to fall short. Truth is it would have just been nice if they had showed up and whisked me away, it’s difficult to express how daunting it is to ask for help.

Restaurant of Love
Love...a four letter word that I personally considered to be irrational and therefore beneath me. I mean I'm Charlie Crippley, the next in line to take over the fortune 500 company for my family, and I had plans for my future. Graduate college, travel the world and push my family business further in the world of Quantum Mechanics. Yes, I had my fair share of relations with the opposite sex, but only as a means of entertainment, no one worthy of my time to be honest. And that was bound to change.

A Date With Merlot
Meghan headed out for her daily walk on a cool crisp day in October when she first saw him. The new man moving into her building was so handsome and distinguished, he took her breath away. His body was lithe and muscular without being too muscular. His hair was dark with just the right amount of white frosting the top of his head. His eyes were bluer than the sky on a good day, such as this one. He was definitely as delicious looking as a tall glass of fine wine.

He had me Merlot...
Amara sat there with her elbow on the table, her hand holding her head up as she listened to what’s-his-name rambling on about himself. Her long blonde hair falling gently over her petite shoulders. She knew her body language probably appeared rude, but she couldn’t mask how incredibly bored she was and how much she was regretting saying yes to this date.

Upon the Loft
It is funny to imagine that I would be using dating websites to find someone to either spend one night with or the rest of my life but, here we are. I enter my name, age, ethnicity, and all the other little tidbits of information, and I get a selection of people, but there was one person who caught my eye. She had dirty black hair, beautiful brown eyes, and a smile that would warm the coldest heart, and her name as well was just symphonic. I press "LIKE" on the page, and the notification is away, but she is popular among the site, and I am not like these other men my friends show me,

Under the Moonlight
Jayla's heart was beating like thunder. She could feel every drop of blood race through her veins. Her bare feet scraped against the concrete as she pushed forwards running without a destination. She was angry. That anger was like fuel. Every thought about him and how he hurt her was like a flame. In the mix of flame and fuel she was on fire. How much longer could she go on like this? She let her knees drop to the ground. A feeling of surrender begged to be felt. Exhausted and betrayed she extinguished herself. She let the tears roll down as she became a pile of ashes. She found a place on the sand to collapse. She just could not maintain the chaos.

Double Date
The distinctive knock on my door spelled the end of my quiet night at home. The last time I’d tried to ignore Lizzie and pretend I wasn’t home, she’d gotten my neighbor to let her into his flat and then hoped over his balcony onto mine. I still don’t know how she’d charmed the grumpy old man but if I ever ran into him in the laundry he didn’t ask me how I was but rather if Lizzie would be stopping by again anytime soon.

"Good Evening, Merlot"
“What will I wear tonight"? I ask myself as I lay in bed. I just woke up from an awesome night's sleep. As soon as I opened my eyes, a smile spread across my face, as I remembered what day it was. I just bought these leather leggings in burgundy. So trendy. But my black skirt has always been a date night fav. Decisions decisions.

The Trouble With Greek Gods
In the mirror looking myself over while I clasp the bracelet on my wrist, I hear the doorbell sound. I turn side to side and approve the way my figure looks in this dress. I smooth my hands down my hips, grab my clutch and walk out of the bedroom with my nerves in disarray. This date is a long time coming. As I approach the living room I hear the voice that has the power to render me intellectually inept. As I get closer to it, I feel the change in my body. My body temperature rises causing my vanilla and cocoa butter scented skin to glisten. My core moistens. My breath thins. My walk becomes more feminine, more pronounced, more sensual. My heartbeat accelerates as I finally enter the room. My eyes land on him. Adonis. I have been half in love with this man since our parents made us come in when the streetlights came on. Watching him, I feel simultaneously, centered and disjointed, relaxed and anxious. He is speaking to my body with no action or intention. Rather, his masculinity is stimulating my femininity. In his presence, I am unconsciously and consciously more feminine.
