breakups
When it comes to breakups, pain is inevitable, but Humans thinks that suffering is optional.
It's always the quiet ones..
I was 29 years old when I met the person who would completely change my life, and not in the best of ways. I thought I had gotten lucky because of this sudden burst of love with someone I thought was the best person ever. Boy was I wrong about this one. I have made some mistakes in my life, however I think this one is the icing and cherry on the cake. This one was my biggest lesson and heartbreak all at once. This one is the one I will never be able to forget because it was the mistake that completely destroyed who I was.

I Just Want To Be Okay
For starters, I know recently it's been tough due to the circumstances that we’ve been encountering. I know that we’ve been trying to work on everything and then it feels like we take 10 steps backwards because of feelings, or because I bring everything up again. I know that the last couple of days, going through everything, has been torturing you. One minute we were okay, the next we were fighting, or the time after that I’m pissed and then you’re upset.

The Narcissist Breakup
I was young, skinny, beautiful, confident, funny and had a great job. I met him in the cafeteria where I worked. He had a contagious smile that when he looked at you, you could not help but smile back. It was very genuine and comforting. He was wearing dark washed jeans with a half zip-up sweater, the kind you see men modeling in pictures at Kohls. The shoes matched the belt, clean cut shave with sharp lines around his go-t and a shiny bald head. When our eyes met it felt like love at first sight. We went out on our first date and it was he and I ever since.

Shattered Dreams
Henrietta October sipped her fourth vodka, hoping to dull the pain from her sunburnt shoulders and back, as she waited for Kyle to answer the telephone. Deep in the back of her mind came the nagging thought, once again, that she shouldn't be calling him, but the effects of the first three vodkas had dulled her self-control. Just as she was about to hang up the telephone, she heard someone pick up and the unmistakable sound of Louann's voice answer.

Five Years
I still remember the night we met. It was the weekend of my 19th birthday and I came to the city to celebrate the only way I knew how, go on a wild booze filled bender. You see I was never looking for this, I was looking for quite the opposite actually. All I wanted was a steamy one night stand, a blurry encounter with a man who would spoil me physically and emotionally for a few hours and then I could use as a good story for the girls. Little did I know that night would become so much more then that.

Surprises
Prompt: “How did you know?” I asked, not sure I wanted the answer. I thought I had been careful. I thought she… ...was none the wiser. I thought that I had been meticulously inconspicuous. I never got all the things I needed at once. I spaced it out over weeks, careful to raise no suspension. My hope was sinking like a stone as her eyes held me pinned to the spot.
