Science behind the colors!

Why the different colors used for different suits?

When imagining a prisoner, you might think of them wearing an orange jumpsuit. This is true, but it wasn't always like this originally. Options in the U.S were wearing uniforms with black and white stripes. In the early 20th century, things started to change and switching these colors to something else was supposed to cut off the association with gangs. Orange jumpsuits appeared in the 70s- when inmates started being transported outside more often. They're also used when an inmate wants to make themselves more visible to guards or other inmates- they can't blend in as easily when wearing striking orange.

Uniforms are a key part of an astronaut's kit. Not only are they necessary for keeping everyone safe in space, but white is the best color for reflecting heat and it makes the astronaut more visible in the Dark of Space. It's great for the cooling and heating systems of their spacesuits too.

But why don't firefighters wear white to reflect the heat? When you're surrounded by flames, the color of your uniform doesn't matter much, and the problem with white is that it gets covered with ash and dust, so it doesn't look whiter. Black or brown doesn't have that problem, or at least it doesn't look that way. Firefighters' uniforms also have reflective strips to make them more visible.

The next profession that comes to mind is police officers and what color do they wear. It is dark blue. This is how the first police station appeared. At the beginning of the 19th century, in Great Britain, the uniform was blued to make it easier to distinguish between the police and the soldiers, who were already dressed in white and red. When a police department was created in the United States a few decades later, they followed the tradition, interestingly the uniform never changed. It turns out to be a very practical color. It does not leave stains and is also very useful because at night the police can track down suspects if they go unnoticed.

Medical staff usually wear blue or green uniforms. There is a reason for that. Before the 20th century, medical professionals simply wore normal clothes even during operation. As medical science developed, people began to pay more attention to how sterile everything was. That's how they first started wearing uniforms. It was white to represent purity, but the problem was that some of the stains were very difficult to wash off the white uniforms. The white color turned green in an instant. So it made sense to make the uniform green or blue. There is another reason why surgeons mostly focus on red colors in their work. Blue and green are on the exact opposite side of the spectrum, so when everything else is green, blue becomes brighter than red.

However, it is a mistake to think that they all use the exact same color in many hospitals. Different departments are color coded. It can be said that different departments use different colored scrubs so that people and other doctors can easily understand who the person is and distinguish them. This helps identify the right person with a specific request.

However, the cutest detail of the Doctor's outfit is probably the Crocs. Why do they love such shoes? It turns out that they are the easiest clean and sterilize. The foam from which they are made can be washed by hand or machine, and the shoe will not be damaged in any way. They are too. Obviously soft, comfortable and breathable, making them the best shoes for people who spend their days on their feet.

Have you ever wondered why most doctors have sloppy handwriting? No, there is no special category in medical colleges. The reason it is so common is because doctors are always busy and they are right immediately. So there is no time to worry about their writing style. Doctors do a lot of paperwork, often for about 10 hours straight, and they are too tired. Mostly do calligraphy.

Weddings & Cultures

In most countries, wedding dresses are usually white, but this tradition is not as old as you might think, dating back to the 1800s. Wedding dresses were any color. Basically, the bride just wore the best dress she owned. They were often not white. Then, without running water, the white man was not very good practical color. Female members of royal families usually married in red coats. In 1840, Queen Victoria changed tradition when she married in a white coat. At first it was rejected because white was associated with sadness. So it wasn't a very festive color. Less than ten years later, the color white became widely accepted and associated with purity and innocence.

Instead, a little more for weddings, engagement rings and wedding rings are usually worn on the fourth finger, and the tradition dates back to ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece. People kept their rings on this finger because they believed that this finger had a vein leading directly to the heart. Wearing a ring on this finger symbolizes that a person's heart was originally taken, the ring was worn on the right hand because people believed that the left hand was unlucky.

Some cultures later changed it to the left. In some countries, people wear the engagement ring on the right hand before the wedding and switch to the left hand after the wedding. But it is always the fourth finger, which we now know is not the vein leading to the heart, but the tradition has survived almost everywhere in the world.

Colors and Genders

Pink is considered a girl's color and blue is traditionally a boy's color. At first, it was the other way around, because a stronger pink color was combined boys and blue as a calmer color was assigned to girls. Colors were later redefined when pink was seen as a romantic shade of red. While the women's movement in the 19th century almost stopped assigning colors to the sexes, it was the 1960s when we learned to find out the sex of the future baby and started organizing gender reveal parties. Companies thought they could make money by selling pink and blue sex products, so they made the rule that blue is for boys and pink is for girls.

The taste of the blue raspberry is more like a regular raspberry, because blue raspberries simply do not exist. But for some reason raspberry flavored ice pop is blue Why is this if the berry itself is pink or red? For practical reasons and to reduce confusion, imagine you are building a deck mulled wine and assign colors to flavors. Apple-flavored is probably green and lemon-flavored is yellow. Next is strawberry, so it should be red. Also red again. Watermelon red and now raspberry red. Four reds is too many reds. How do people separate them? So were blue raspberry ice cubes and called non-existent blue raspberries.

Egg Mystery

Now the egg mystery, like why are some white and some brown? And what does it depend on? Apparently, the color depends on the breed of chicken. Normally, white hens lay white eggs and dark hens lay brown eggs. However, even hens of the same breed can lay eggs of different colors depending on the genetics of the particular head. If you are wondering if there is a difference between brown and white eggs, the answer is no, it is just the color of the egg. The yolk can also vary. Orange or yellow, its color depends on what food the chicken eats. If its food contains a lot of yellow-orange pigments, the yolk will be darker. Here again, there is no difference except the color. So don't worry about it.
