Broken

Love is supposed to be easy and care free. Its supposed to make you happy and feel good. It's there to warm your heart and to show you how much you mean to a person. Love is easy to say, it numbs the pain and helps people heal when they've been broken. Anyone can say they love you and majority of the time it makes you feel better. But there are times where people use love as an excuse and then it no longer feels good, then it becomes hurt. Which is why people like me are terrified of love because we associate it with pain.

When we're born its a joyous time, a small little baby being brought into the world just melts the hearts of others. Love fills the room and everyone is happy. But that's not always the case, some of us were never wanted so there was no love or happiness being shown to us. As children we need love to help us grow and to show us how to be decent human beings. Without love all we know is pain and sorrow. We go through life seeking something we know nothing about.

We're the types that are born broken, we're born empty because we don't know love. We look for love to fix us but we're so broken beyond repair that nothing can fix us. When things break if it's not worth fixing we throw it away. People do the same with others, they see us as damaged goods so we get tossed aside like a piece of trash. We're the disposables that go through life seeking something we'll never be able to achieve.

Love isn't meant to be painful but when someone we love stops loving us back that's when love hurts, that's when it becomes painful. For people like me when we have someone to love us we feel special and accepted like we finally matter. But when that love is taken away it's even more painful because we don't know when we will ever feel that again. It puts us in a worse off place than before we ever had it. For people like me it's best to just leave us alone because if forever isn't something you're willing to give us then you shouldn't mess with our hearts.

People who were born not knowing what love is are the most fragile so be gentle with them. If you can't love them whole heartedly then you should just be their friend. Don't bring any more pain to someone like me because it's just unfair. Most people start life off with love so when they get hurt they know that love will be there to fix that pain. But for someone like me, we started off with pain so when we are given love we try to hold on tight to it. Like a starving child that's finally been given food, they take it all in not knowing when they'll ever be fed again. Broken people hold on to love as long as they possibly can because it's a rarity to them.

Love isn't a toy you dangle in front of people's faces. It's the ultimate feeling that holds so much meaning you shouldn't play around with it. Don't use love to break people. Use love to fix the broken and show them love conquers all. Love is meant for everyone, you can give it and receive it but it should never be used as a tool to get things out of selfish needs. Let love win, let love be a happy feeling and no longer a scary sad one for some.
