Sasquatch
I cursed myself for making such a stupid mistake while scanning what seemed like endless treetops from my perch on the lone, bald hill. How could I think that heading down a side trail this late in the day would be a good idea? I knew better. I wasn’t some novice hiker, and yet I was lost with little more than the clothes on my back and a utility knife that I always carried with me on hikes. All out of water, no snacks and even my cellphone was useless up here.

The ghost in the closet
I was 17 when I decided ghosts were real. I sat in my large, cross shaped room that ended in three doors, one to my closet, one to my bathroom, and the last one leading to...well, nothing. The third door opened up into a wall. I was talking with my boyfriend as his words dissipated into garbled whispers. I was hyper fixated on the floor boards in my closet, why did some of them look as though they were sawed off to be shorter than the rest of the closet.

TOME 8 The realization hit me harder than I could have imagined, Zach might be alive, something I had hoped for, but never expected. Gabe's head was right, I abandoned him like when I abandoned my brother. I left him for dead, and I needed to fix it. "Alex, um...should we...uh, can we try to save him?" Alex knew me too well, this line of thinking didn't faze him in the slightest.

TOME 7 I found myself laughing nervously at not having noticed the thick, fowl smelling blood dispersed across my shirt and arms. "Yeah, I'll take care of that, heh....lucky we still have running water, eh" I seemed to be trying to go the comical route, to which Alex was clearly a little concerned about, but knew to stay silent about it for now. It felt as though days had gone by as I washed my arms and attempted to salvage the shirt I was wearing to no avail, eventually dropping it into the sink where it would stay.

A Mother's Love
It's late at night at a farm. The wind rustles the trees as a storm passes through. The waves crash on the rocky shores on the bottom of the cliff near the farm and the house it's precisely located next to. Inside the modest house is Abby, an 8 year old girl stomping to her room, slamming the door and jumping on her bed with tears streaming down her face, running away from the bellows of her inebriated father.

I can't wait anymore.
I didn't know when I woke up drearily that morning, but this would be the last day spent with my bio-mom and brother as a family. I was twelve, and permanently shaken to the core. I suppose I loved my mom, but I was really only coming back here to see my brother, who meant more to me than my own life. My brother, mom and I sat watching T.V. as the energy in the house began to shift, I felt on edge as mom's husband peeked out the small hole on the door with a hissed grunt.

A Day That Changed It All
I dreaded going to work that day, I was feeling unwell at the thought of what I needed to do. I was 19, and an escort. That day, I chose to instead go to a friends house, a dominatrix who was happy to host me. Everything seemed okay, until I got a call from my volatile boyfriend. My boyfriend at the time, was known for his anger problems, and even had napalm in his nick-name. I could feel my world seizing as I brought the phone to my ear, unaware of how bad my life was about to become.
