"What happened when you woke up?" " I really don't remember much, the only thing I knew was that I was standing outside when I knew I was in my room."

We begin this tale on a rainy night, Cindy’s mother has just died. She went peacefully, but before she went, she told her daughter “Never let the bastards get you down.” The proceeding days followed as any mourning behaviors would. Cindy’s father, Herbert, was completely distraught… mind, body, soul… he struggled to exist. Yet, the first year is always the hardest, and after 365 days Herbert felt it was necessary to date again. Luckily, he didn’t have to look far. His neighbor, Samantha, was also a widow and was left with two, twin teenage daughters, about Cindy’s age, their names were Hilda and Olga. Hilda was as lean as an olive branch, but as bitter as bitter melon (with matching complexion). Olga on the other hand, was smooth and round, but had teeth facing in every direction except straight. Samantha and Herbert only felt it was natural for them to date, which led to a hasty marriage… six months in and the couple were happily wed.

It was a small close knit town, one where everyone knows everyone and it's virtually impossible to keep anything private, even behind closed doors, especially once the rumours start, the people in a town like this live for gossip.

I REALLY wanted to like this movie. It's from the same writer/director as He Never Died (2015), which was fucking epic. It even had some really solid plot ideas. I don't know who fucked this up, but they fucked it up BAD. Maybe they needed Jason Krawczyk to direct, or maybe Jason was never a good writer and Henry Rollins really did clean up He Never Died (2015).

Chapter 1. A New (to us) Car “Mi esposa,” started Vanessa, in the sweet accent she knew Caleb so adored, “you know your car is a piece of junk at this point, right?” Caleb just sighed, “I know honey, and we will, I’ve just been so…” he labored a moment to find the word, “busy, with everything, you know… but, hey, tomorrow we will okay, it’s a day off for me.” As he said the last phrase, he took a final sip of his coffee from his “Man of God” mug that had been a gift from Vanessa, and walked out, leaving behind an empty plate where his bagel and eggs with a bit of ham had been.

The room was dark and very quiet, a few hushed whispers breaking the silence as the crowd settled in. Waiting. I looked around nervously, trying to pick up any hint of movement in the dim city hall. I brushed worriedly at my warm jacket with one hand, the other clutching tightly my little Siamese cat beanie baby, which I carried with me every where. A few minutes passed, and I began to relax into my seat, carefully tucking Snip into my pocket so I wouldn't lose her in the dark. I vaguely registered the sound of a door opening and closing, and was about to scan around the room again when...

It’s family dinner one moment, and the next, she's in the room. Blinding lights glare with disdain at her naked form firmly belted to the stainless steel operating table. The floor, the ceiling, the walls, the equipment; all a pristine, screaming white. It is all perfectly in sync with the artificial sterility which one only, always, finds in hospitals. She wonders how they keep the blood from staining it.
