The Ghost of the Steppe
The wind did not howl across the Khentii Mountains; it screamed, a jagged, mournful sound that tore through the felt walls of Noyan Batu’s command tent. Outside, the night was a void of suffocating blackness, broken only by the shivering orange embers of a dying campfire. Batu sat motionless, his fingers tracing the topography of a silk map spread across a low wooden table.

Kennedy Center Restored
Last year, Donald Trump took over the Kennedy Center. He said the programs there were "too woke." Fall out was immediate. So many performers pulled out of their shows that Donald decided to shut the center down, for "renovations." Then he decided to add his name to the signage. It now read "The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts." Voices in congress pointed out that this was a Memorial Center to President Kennedy, and Trump should not have his name attached. One member of congress, Representative Joyce Beatty from Ohio, took action. She sued to have Donald Trump's name removed from the building.

Queens
There’s a long history of queens writing poetry, for many different reasons. If we look at the poetry of Queen Elizabeth I, we see controlled rhetoric, but when we read the poetry of Mary, Queen of Scots, we are met with lament and the language of suffering.
