In all the pages of history, there is hardly any player that has elicited as much hate and opposition as Adolf Hitler, the well-known head of National Socialist Germany. His rule of wickedness in World War Two was the cause of the mass agony and death, far more than ever seen as the result of any recent contemporary issues. Obviously, the crimes he committed were devastating, therefore, many people worked to inflict assassination on him. From the bravest plots to the best plans, the elimination tactic of Hitler was as many as they were endless.

One of the popular themes is the overwhelming desire of people to avoid Hitler's rise to power and thereby to bring an end to his tyranny, such that it became a kind of daydream with many people imagining what they would do if they had the option of going back in time and thus to prevent him from ever gaining control. Nevertheless, prior to the start of World War II, there were some who had sensed the danger that Hitler posed to European order and they acted accordingly.

Among the earliest assassination plots against Hitler was set up in 1932, although he was not yet the head of the government. The Hotel Kaiserhof in Berlin offered Hitler and his group of companions a dinner service, which massively poisoned them. However, the perpetrator was not found, as shone through the people seeing Hitler as the adversary of the state even before the regime was in the hands of the ruler.

As further to Hitler's power consolidation, which was seen in the subsequent years, attempts on his life only mounted. In February of 1933, only few months after taking over the leadership of country he was targeted by another poisoning operation. This time the assassin sent a letter with poisonous components, but to his luck it was intercepted by German authorities. During his career Hitler had several attempts at his life made by various persons and organizations, both from within Germany and from abroad, who intended to bring his dictatorship to an end this way.

The plot of July 1944 which was called Operation Valkyrie, among many others I would dare to say, was the most audacious one. Visibly, this plot was orchestrated by the German military leaders like Claus von Stauffenberg and Henning von Tresckow. They decided to install a bomb inside the conference room, where Hitler convened his meetings at his headquarters. Even if the bomb exploded, Hitler had managed to stay alive with no more than slight wounds which led to the dissolution of the coup.

Not being the only ones nor the ones to lack audacity, other attempts on Hitler's life were made as well. In 1939 one of Germany's enemies tried to kill Hitler in Munich. Bavaud, a Swiss theology student attempted to shoot Hitler during a parade. He failed to kill the dictator because the crowd stopped him. Two months later, a carpenter about to stage his hit named Georg Elser placed a bomb at the Munich beer hall, while he was there to make a speech. Hitler, however, ended up leaving early, thus narrowly escaping the blast.

Throughout the war, not only were there attempts to assassinate Hitler by the use of sniper fire and suicide on him; there were other plans like organizing rebellion or setting up an underground government. Some had small groups of the German generals, while others were conducted even by the average inhabitants who were tempted in order to survive the indescribable horrors of the Nazis rule.

Battling the courage and boldness of those assassins namely Hitler, illegally seer finally made Hitler already elusive until his end days. On the 30th of April, 1945, while the Allies troops got closer to the capital, Adolf Hitler committed suicide - along with his long-time wife, Eva Braun - in Berlin ending the most terrible era making our history.

The planned hitings of Adolf Hitler become a symbol of the courage and perserverance of those that would not accept rule by tyrant and saving the lives of the enslaved. Still, despite their unsuccessful attempt to dodge the crimes of World War II, they are the epitome of the one man (or one woman) army, who can fight against evil and for justice, even in the wars with high odds.
