Movie Review: 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' a Noisy, Sloppy Mess
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a bizarre misfire. Disney spent nearly $200 million dollars on this sequel, and while all of that is definitely on the screen in opulent production design, costume, and high level CGI, the story is absent and the narrative is bizarrely inert. Much like another over-priced Disney sequel, Alice Through the Looking Glass, story and character are secondary to lavish but empty visual spectacle.

'A Breaking Bad Movie'
This movie was highly anticipated. Everyone wanted to know what happened to Jesse at the end of Breaking Bad. I will go on to say that I loved how they started the movie right from the last scene, in the show where we saw Jesse freed from capture, driving away.

5 Reasons Why We Need a 'Princess Bride' Remake
It’s been kind of funny to monitor social media lately and witness the hysteria over the proposed remake of The Princess Bride. If memes are to be believed, people are losing their mind over the idea that anyone other than Cary Elwes plays the man in black, or anyone other than Chris Sarandon plays the evil Prince Humperdinck.

'Joker'
Joker as a villain has always been intriguing, mysterious, and a mischievous character. Right from his comic stories like The Killing Joke (1988) to his depictions in series and movies like Batman (1966), Batman (1989), The Dark Knight (2008), Gotham (2014), Suicide Squad (2016), and most recently Joker (2019), Joker’s character has been consistently cynical and hard to read through.

Mahopac Native Brings the Plight of the Tiger Home in 'Tigerland'
The fact that there are now only 500 Tigers left in Far East Russia probably doesn’t get a lot of play around dinner tables in Mahopac, NY. But the distance doesn’t diminish the issue for a Mahopac native who has made a name as an Oscar winning Documentary Filmmaker, and is the subject of his latest film, Tigerland.

Classic Movie Review: 'The Fabulous Baker Boys' Deserves Its Forgotten Status
As a fan of Jeff Bridges, the star of my favorite movie of all time, The Big Lebowski, I often ponder his career, what he's done and will do next. As the 30th anniversary of the release of 1989s The Fabulous Baker Boys approached, I began to wonder why no one ever talks about this nightclub romance with Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff acting alongside his IRL brother, Beau.

Classic Movie Review: 'Crimes and Misdemeanors'
Crimes and Misdemeanors perfectly captures the ability of a perfectly mediocre, rich, white guy to get away with just about anything. Spoilers ahead, the movie is 30 years old, you've had your chance to see it. The film stars Martin Landau as an ophthalmologist who has his criminal brother, played by Jerry Orbach, hire someone to kill his mistress, played by a slumming Anjelica Huston.

Movie Review: 'Jexi' Is Bad but What Were We Expecting?
I should have known better than to try and think positive thoughts about Jexi. I should have approached it with the disdain with which the trailer had instilled within me. I should have been skeptical of my recent less than averse feelings for Adam Devine. Instead, I tried to be positive. I tried hard to go in and laugh. It was not worth such effort.
