How “Harry Potter” Became the Gold Standard of Film Series Adaptations
It’s hard not to be a little biased when the first Harry Potter film came out not long after your fifth birthday, but there’s a magic to these films that extends well beyond the wizardry. I can think of no film that’s done more justice to the fantastical world of its source material than the colossal Hogwarts castle and the hallowed grounds around it.

Michael Gambon's Most Unforgettable Role
For those who grew up with the Harry Potter movies, they likely see Michael Gambon's face as the apotheosis of warmth and wisdom. Taking over the role of Professor Albus Dumbledore upon the death of the beloved Richard Harris, though, it was no easy task he had before him trying to fill those shoes. Famously, though, Gambon didn't even attempt to. He didn't read the books, and he didn't allow his approach to the character to be tainted by Harris's prior portrayal.

Solid First Seasons
So occasionally we’ve talked about shows that just started off so strong and up a muddled mess. Unfortunately this is an all too common phenomenon, particularly in network shows. It boils down to studios wanting more money so they keep their successful shows on long enough to ruin them. So we are going to go through some of the shows that had incredible, groundbreaking first seasons. Perhaps they even had a good first few seasons, but eventually they ended up incomplete and messy.

Winter Musicals
As the wintery cold sets in we are not just watching Christmas movies but we are also watching some winter time musicals. We should know that I am a theatre kid in my heart so we can’t get through the holiday season without me watching some of my favorite musicals. Now as I was trying to explain to my husband earlier each genre of music has seasons. My summer musicals would be like South Pacific, or Shrek. Whereas Fall would be Les Mis and Sweeney Todd. Each musical score has a lot of feelings attached to it and the musicals on this list have sweet, cozy, wintery vibes attached to them which makes them perfect for the end of the year. So now that we have established feelings and vibes, let's go through some of the best musicals for winter.

Brief and not-so-Brief opinions: Part 3
Dual, The Hunt, Side Effects, Law Abiding Citizen, The Debt, Catfight, The Weekend Away, and Long Weekend. … The 'brief and not-so-brief opinions' articles are my outlet to rant about or appreciate movies, shows and their elements. I will express my thoughts while watching and after or only after watching, it depends. I will not be rating. These are not spoiler-free for the most part and no research will be made for or about them(unless curious or accidental which would be mentioned). They are in no particular order of recent watching as well. However, the opinions are in order of viewing the movie or show (for the most part). This wouldn't be as structured or detailed as well and there would be no set number of picks per article, it would be just as things go. It is intended to be casual. So think, conversations about movie plots, characters, topics-so something like that.
