Netflix Christmas Movies

To Watch This Season

We are celebrating Christmastime and thus we are taking inventory of all the Christmas movies available on various streaming services. We are now onto examining Netflix’s Christmas offerings. Netflix actually has a decent range, from sweet, well-crafted, artistic Christmas movies, to those fun rom com like Christmas movies. Both are really awesome and very important so let's get into the list.

First up we have perhaps one of the best written and executed Christmas movies of all time, Klaus. This film is emotional and beautiful and has such incredible animation. It is truly one of the best animated movies of all time, definitely one of the most well developed Christmas movies. Everyone of all ages should watch this movie this season as it is one of my favorite rewatches and I really can’t put into words how amazing this movie is.

In that same vein we have Angela’s Christmas. Also an adorable animated Christmas movie we get more heart in the story then there normally is in children’s Christmas movies. And that is probably what I love most about this movie is that yes, it's sweet and it's a Christmas movie but it's also a story about a little girl with a big heart and it's animation is beautiful.

Next we’ve got Jingle Jangle, which is also the name of the drug in Riverdale. But it is also a delightful Christmas musical on Netflix. Jingle Jangle gives off some Disney vibes but in a much more subtle way. The music is fun and it is a very fun and upbeat way to celebrate the holiday season. It stars Anika Noni Rose who you may know as the voice of Princess Tiana. So you know that the vocals for this musical are amazing. There are quite a few other recognizable faces but Anika is definitely the highlight.

Okay we are now moving on to the sillier stories that Netflix has to offer and we are starting with The Princess Switch. I guess not strictly a Christmas movie but when this was first released the internet exploded in love with Vanessa Hudgens. And there is even a sequel that came out recently, The Princess Switch two, starring Vanessa Hudgens not 1, not 2, but 3 times. It's silly, it's fun and it kind of reminds me of the old animated Barbie movies so I guess that’s reason enough to watch these. They are the fun kind of mindless, and you don’t actually have to pay too much attention to them. But if you just need something on in the background then these are the movies for you.

And last but not least we’ve got Falling for Christmas which I think just about everyone considers Lindsay Lohan’s comeback. She had been gone from the industry and really from the public eye for so long that I had kind of forgotten that she existed but now that she’s all whole and healed from the mess that is being a child actor she made her foray back into acting. And she did so with a Netflix Christmas movie which frankly seemed like a nice, safe choice. That said it was also a very good movie and now something that I will continue to watch every year.

Christmas movies are one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. And though Netflix as a streaming service is kind of losing its appeal with the crackdown on password sharing, upping their prices, and having just less good content then everyone else their Christmas movie game is still pretty good. I personally like the movies that are more aimed at kids because I think that there is more thought put into them. But all the movies are good.
