Christmas Movies

Last but not least we are looking to Amazon Prime for some more Christmas movies to watch. We are taking our Christmas research streaming service, by streaming service in an attempt to give you guys the best Christmas movies to watch this holiday season. All streaming services have their own supply of both classic and original Christmas movies. Amazon Prime has a lot of cartoon Christmas specials that just can’t be missed.

So we are starting off with some of the best cartoon Christmas specials that are available on Amazon Prime. We are talking about classic Boomerang cartoons. Starting with Tom and Jerry: Santa’s Little Helpers. No one does physical comedy better than Tom and Jerry. A cartoon so prolific and ubiquitous that children from every generation can enjoy this special and feel some kind of comfort and nostalgia from it. I personally grew up with Boomerang cartoons and I really love the themed Tom and Jerry specials and this one is one of the best.

Next up is Tis the Season to be Smurfy. That’s right the adorable, little, blue, smurfs have their own Christmas special. The Smurfs and the Snorks were always some of my favorite cartoons to watch (yeah I know no one remembers the Snorks but I do). There is also a Smurfs Christmas Carol and The Magical Christmas of the Smurfs, though I do not know if those last two are available on Amazon Prime. So if you are looking for a good Smurf fix our friendly blue friends have a lot to offer.

We can’t talk about Boomerang Christmas Cartoons without mentioning Yogi Bear’s All Star Comedy Christmas Caper. Yes it is a long title, but that is because it's packed with lots of cartoon awesomeness. Think of it as just the best crossover ever. Featuring not only Yogi bear and Boo boo, the Christmas special also includes Huckleberry Hound, Fred Flintstones and so many others. Having this much cartoon silliness in one place results in a very goofy Christmas special, which makes it perfect for kids of all ages.

Last but not least on the cartoon front we’ve got a Flintstone Christmas. Like Tom and Jerry there is hardly a TV family more recognizable than the Flintstone’s so why wouldn’t you want to curl up with this prehistoric Christmas special? In this Christmas special, Fred and Barney must take over the delivery route for an injured Santa Clause. It is a classic Flintstones story with wackiness galore making it the perfect Christmas comedy.

Amazon Prime has a lot of Christmas movies I go back to every year. In addition to this list we’ve got Elf (the ultimate Christmas classic), The Holiday (gotta have some Jack Black at Christmastime), The Christmas Kiss (just a really cute, romantic movie that I like) and The Toy That Saved Christmas (nothing more classic then veggietales at Christmastime). All really wonderful Christmas movies that I love a lot but nothing really beats the classic cartoons that I (and my parents) grew up with. These stories are timeless and therefore are the perfect ones to show the whole family and introduce to the next generation. Amazon Prime has one of the better selections for Christmas movies as far as streaming services go, less full of repetitive romantic storylines and more chocked full of actual good, classic storylines. If I had to recommend a single streaming service to start with for the holiday season it would probably be Amazon Prime, quickly followed by Hulu, then Netflix, and last is Max completely based on Christmas movie selection.
