Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in GeeksBook Review: “Chasing the Light” by Oliver Stone
As we are all probably well aware by now, Oliver Stone is one of my favourite directors ever with his film “JFK” (1991) being one of my favourite films of all time. He has directed amazing movies like “Any Given Sunday” and the legendary “Platoon” which is based on his own experiences as a soldier in the Vietnam War. But little do we know about what happened before all of this great directing. Oliver Stone lets us into his life in which there are many, many setbacks for him. His perseverance through broken relationships, both family and in love, failed odd jobs and many more left him without money and often without hope. But, this man still managed to find the time to write out scripts upon scripts which were rejected each and every time. Of course, there was no doubt that one day, he would write a script that would become a great movie as we read this book after a lengthy, successful career. Oliver Stone writes passionately about his experiences, with vigour, reality and does not seek to be anything he is not. He tells his story in words that all can understand and all will come to understand the story behind this legend which is one of constant kicks and punches. In the end though, he does not give up.

Trevor WellsPublished 4 years ago in Geeks007 - On her Majesty's service since 1962
“The name’s Bond, James Bond”. Every movie lover must have heard this famous line at some point in his life. Why not we are talking about one of the most famous movie franchises of all time. James Bond movies are one of the best in spy action genre. What sets Bond apart from other rough-and-tumble heroes is his elegance. The man knows how to wear a tux, he knows cocktails ("shaken, not stirred"), and he certainly knows the art of seduction. It’s almost been 60 years since the first bond movie came out yet different actors portraying bond in their own style and manner had increased the popularity of franchise. Roger Moore is still regarded the best actor to portray bond till now however some critics might argue that.

Review of 'Vicious Spirits'
Vicious Spirits is an incredible sequel that expands upon the folklore that started this series. However, this scope of this novel has expanded by adding in Junu’s and Somin’s perspectives of the novel. These additions add more richness to the novel, allowing the depth between the dynamics to grow.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a turbulent time as far as movie releases go. Early on, Disney made the decision to release Pixar’s Onward on Disney+ shortly after it had been put in theaters. Since then, they have had to push back Marvel films, the next of which was supposed to be Black Widow.
Culture SlatePublished 4 years ago in GeeksAnthony Mackie Explains Why He Criticized Marvel Studios About Diversity
The movie industry has come a long way in its inclusion and portrayal of minorities since it began. Early silent films such as The Birth of a Nation portrayed African Americans as essentially uncivilized monsters only out to hurt the good white people. Even if you think we have a long way to go to be truly inclusive, one has to admit that the film industry has made serious advances.

Tammy ReesePublished 4 years ago in GeeksMovie Review: 'Guest of Honour' Starring David Thewlis
Director Atom Egoyan is known for pain and deep emotional trauma. I once watched a friend of mine descend into a despair so deep while watching Egoyan’s The Captive that I strongly considered hiding the cutlery. Egoyan lingers on trauma, meditates upon it and explores it in the same way Civil War doctors probed wounds searching for unseen shrapnel. Egoyan digs in with his fingers and offers only a minor sedative via his deliberate storytelling.

A Curse of Gold by Annie Sullivan is the second novel in her retelling series of the tale of King Midas. Now the first book was excellent, you can see the review here, but this novel surpasses its predecessor in some ways because it delves deeper into Greek Mythology.
