Battling Guilt Part 8: Rescue Attempt
Petra's heart was palpating and her brow was dripping with beads of sweat by the time she reached the top of the building. Not because she over exerted herself; her super-human strength for the most part prevented her from feeling the typical affects of over-exertion. No, she wasn't tired. She was nervous. She hadn't seen nor spoke to Ivan for months, despite his attempts at contacting her.

The Mother
Why doesn't she flame? Why doesn't she take back her baby and burn me to a crisp, and the whole forest with me? Her enormous black snout inched through the circle, from her world to ours. Her long neck snaked behind it. The obsidian bulk of her beyond that blocked any view I might have had of the world where dragons live.

Berganashio - Chapter 4
In a very different part of the land, far from where the fairies, totters, fireflies, and hummingbirds lived, there lived a mob of meerbirds. The meerbirds were similar to meerkats, which are found in other worlds. However, they possessed beautiful, white wings. A mob of meerbirds sat in a circle around the campfire somberly. The firelight flickered on their black, beady, calm eyes. Their wings were all tucked carefully behind them out of reverence. Even the youngest of the meerbirds sat with their parents, both unusually quiet, and attentive. Keenwai stood up, while clearing his throat. His muscles felt a bit tense, but it was because he didn’t like speaking in front of crowds. He began to speak what he had been rehearsing in his mind all day since they had buried his sickly father that morning.

Decrescendo . Top Story - February 2024.
I'm wearing the hand-me-down leggings of a girl who got cancer and lived. Fraying and soaked at the kneecaps. I crouch by snow-sunken tires - pawing our car deeper into the hillside with ungloved hands. Futile, numb effort.

First of her Kind Part 10. Content Warning.
Trigger warning. SA and physical violence. It wasn’t long until the drama Adam created settled down and the house got back to normal. Adam continued to do low impact workouts for long hours to build her muscle, oftentimes alongside Evander who still rarely had much to say, but seemed to not only tolerate, but welcome her company. The three of them also spent a great deal of time on the new VR games. Evander spent a little time in games that interacted with normal society, but he was particularly fond of outdoor programs, spending a great deal of time on hiking paths in deserts and mountains. Lucian spent almost all of his time in virtual malls and amusement parks. Adam tried several programs and found herself not particularly favoring any one. From the rec room, she could join Evander and Lucian in whatever simulation they were playing.
