The ketogenic diet is huge right now. The health benefits are hard to overlook and the results are impressive. But proponents of the diet still find themselves missing certain aspects of a traditional diet, like sandwiches and pizza.

Celery is one of those foods that are difficult to eat before it goes bad. To make it last much, much longer in the refrigerator, wrap it tightly in aluminum foil and refrigerate it. I've had celery stay crisp for weeks this way. According to an old issue of Cook's Illustrated, this method works because foil allows the ripening hormone #ethylene to escape. Or buy smaller packages, be sure to plan meals that you will include celery in before purchasing so that you ensure it being consumed.

1. Eggs, omelettes (no cheese), frittata with vegetables but no cheese. If you are used to cheese, please at least try it. You really do not miss the cheese. Now I don't know about you but I am definitely a food-oriented person. I plan my day around my meals and I love to eat. I worked with a girl once that told me she always forgets to eat and it shocked me so much I choked up a little bit. I always used to half-joke that if I failed at everything else in life I would pursue becoming a competitive eater because, boy. Could. I. Eat. In summary, food is very much a passion and priority of mine.

First of all, take the words "Weight Loss Diet" out of your vocabulary. Weight loss equals well-balanced foods and snacks every day in recommended amounts. There are probably few people who can stay on a "diet" for the rest of their life. Unless, of course, your doctor prescribed a diet for you, such as a Diabetic Diet or a Renal Diet, examples of the many such doctors' prescribed diets.
