but as we grow, we do not give it that much of importance

rather we notice only a lot of hair fall

Reasons for hair fall

medical reasons can be hormonal imbalance

many conditions can cause hormonal imbalance

first could be polycystic ovaries

second thyroid issues

choosing the right comb is very important

there are whole lot of varieties available in the market, I have kept only a few here

but how to choose the right comb from them is what we are going to see next

this is paddle brush

this is wooden comb

then we have plastic comb

now let us see how to choose the right wooden comb

in these if you see, the teeth of the comb, notice the gap in between them

if it is wide mouthed with gap in between

many tend to ask about which brush is better

you can very well use paddle brush

and the round ones as well

just that make sure that the bristles are spaced out

and end of the bristles must be rounded

what kind of comb or brush should we use and what technique should we follow

so that will be the second part

what should be our hair care routine, like how many times in a week should we use oil, wash hair and so on

so the practical points will be discussed in the last 10 mins of the video

I am pretty sure that you will get all the answers for your questions regarding hair loss

before we go into the hair care part of it, let us understand what are the most common medical reasons for hair loss in this first part

reasons for hair fall

medical reasons can be hormonal imbalance

many conditions can cause hormonal imbalance

first is polycystic ovaries, for which many have come to us for treatment

second is thyroid issues which can cause hair fall problems

next is stress, you ask anyone, they will say they are under stress

apart from these, certain vitamin deficiency, mainly B12 deficiency

and certain auto immune conditions, where your body produces antibodies against your own body cells

all these, like people undergoing cancer treatments and so on will face hair fall issues

in hair fall due to stressful conditions, like emotional stress due to loss of someone

a traumatic event

if you have done weight loss by crashing your diet

so these conditions are prone to patients to have hair fall

so the medical term here is Alloplasia, which means you lose a patch of hair in a particular area

then there is another condition called Trichotillomania

were the people have a tendency to pluck there hair

so if you have patchy hair loss, or you suddenly notice heavy hair loss

the medical name of that condition is Telogen Effluvium

so I will tell when you would get this condition and how to tackle this condition

because this will be for a short duration only, and you can try to treat the under lying medical reason for reacovery

so the short term issue is caused by stress

controlling stress is extremely crucial

I am going to tell you three major tips

first, your life style changes

similar to what I mention in my all other videos

your life style changes with good amount of protein intake

in your diet is very important

include lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet

second is physical activity

it does not mean you need to work out for an hour or two

20 to 30 mins of physical activity is sufficient

along with good hydration

third id your sleep

minimum of 6.5 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep during night time is crucial

if we can incorporate these three things into our lives along with 15 to 20 mins of meditation

then we will be able to reduce the acute onset of hair loss

now we are in the second part of the video

in this I will tell you how to choose the right comb, the right technique and the right amount of hair brushing

if you ask why we should comb, then there are three major benefits

first, to improve the blood circulation in your scalp

scalp is the thin layer which holds the hair follicles

so combing will help in filling the scalp with oxygen and nutrient rich blood

which will in turn help in grow healthy hair follicles

generally, our scalp will have the sebaceous glands which will produce oil or sebum

so combing will help in spreading the oil evenly throughout the scalp

as we all go out regularly, a lot of dust particles will get stuck in our hair, so to remove them combing will help us

so we have these many reasons to comb our hair

but we have so many myths surrounding combing as well

so, one of the most popular myth about it is we need to comb our hair a minimum of 100 times a day for it to be healthy

there is no need to comb a hundred times

but choosing the right comb is very important

we have so many combs available in the market, I have kept only a few of them here

how to choose the right comb from them, is what we will see next

this is paddle brush

this is wooden comb

next we have plastic comb

this is again a brush

if we see how to choose the right comb or brush from these

it is always preferable to use a wooden comb

now let us see how to choose the better comb from these

both of these are wooden combs

in these if you see, the teeth of the comb, notice the gap in between them

the brush with gap is preferred

if we use the one with less gab, then you will notice lot of hair fall

second is the edges, the edges should be blunt as much as possible

in this, the edges are sharp

so, the comb which you choose should be wooden, wide mouthed, with blunt edges

in wooden, it is better to use the comb made from rosewood

now why we should not use plastic comb even though these two look similar is

if you see the difference in them

there is something called static electricity

I am definitely not an engineering student, so the engineering people will know what I am talking about

when you come your hair with plastic comb if will create static electricity, that is there will be positive and negative particles

hair will generate one sort of electricity and your comb will generate another sort of electricity

so when you sue them, it can increase your hair fall

so try and completely avoid using plastic combs

both plastic combs and brushes

switch over to wooden combs

in brushes if you ask, you can use paddle brush

you can use these as well

only thing is the the bristles should be spaced out and the edges should be rounded

they should not be sharp

so either paddle brush or round brush, with spaced out bristles and rounded tips are safe and they will reduce hair fall

so this is the right way to choose a comb or a brush

next we will see what is the right technique and how many times to wash hair, as many will have this doubt

and is oil massage important, is what we are going to see in this third part

hair care

because if we follow a proper hair care routine we will be able to reduce hair fall

as I told about many myth earlier

can we wash our hair regularly

you should wash your hair minimum two to three times a week

that is the first thing I wanted to tell you

many have doubts about the oil massages, what oil to use and how to use

but I am going to tell two main things about oil massages, the DOs and DONTs of oil massages

first Do is, applying hair oil just 10 mins prior to hair wash is more than enough

you heat the oil to a luke warm temperature and massage it into your scalp for 2 to 3 mins

and leave it for 5 to 10 mins just before hair wash

so this is what is needed for oil massage

now what you should not do during oil massage is

after oil massage you should not tie your hair tightly

and you should not leave oil in the hair overnight as it is not good for the hair

and if you already have oily scalp, do not apply more oil onto it

so I hope I broke the myths about oil massage

apply oil just prior to your head bath, do not tie your hair and do not leave oil in your hair overnight

so now how should we wash our hair

you should keep two main things when you wash your hair

first take some shampoo dilute it in water and then apply it onto your hair

so it will help in removing the dirt and opening up the pours

then you should do a second round of shampooing to make your hair follicles clean and healthy

so two layers of hair wash is necessary

next is many use hair conditioners

so when you use conditioners never apply them near your scalp

it should be applied at the lower end of the hair

and also after applying the conditioner, it should not be left in your hair for more than 5 mins

so with in 2 to 3 mins or max of up to 5 mins you can keep it in your hair and rinse it off

now we know about hair wash and oil massage

once you have bath do not tie your hair completely

you can surely dry it with a towel but do not tie it with one

because wet hair is very brittle for hair fall

I am telling this specifically telling this because, many tend to comb their hair when it is wet

so do not comb your hair when it is wet, because hair fall will be more

so towel dry your hair, do not tie it tightly, once they are dry you can remove the knots with a comb

you can surely use hair dryer but it might make your hair frizzy

so maximum you can try natural ways to dry your hair

so we have seen everything in detail, but I thing I should tell one more important thing about brush

when we comb our hair, there will be a few hair follicles stuck onto our brush, remove it immediately

try not to share your brush with anyone, it can be your daughter or mother or anyone

you should have a separate hair brush

you should regularly wash your hair brush as well, as there will be dirt in them as well

you might have washed your hair just then and the dirt from your hair brush can get caught on your clean hair

which can eventually cause hair fall

so it very important that you do not share your brush

remove the hair follicles from the brush immediately

keep your brush clean by washing it every once in two days

after all this, we have come to the last part

apart from all these small tips, you diet is very important

your diet pattern will definitely help you in reducing your hair fall

Vitamins like Vitamin A, Biotin that is B Complex or B12

these are important for reducing hair fall

these are of course present in green leafy vegetables

papaya, nuts like almond, pistas, walnuts, all these contain, good amount of fat, protein and vitamins

so all put together in a nut shell for your hair fall
