How can a Minister guide his member to participate in the Spirit-led process of renewing their mind? How can the member be more consistent in making connections between what they read in the Bible and what they do in their life?

Here are four things that renew our mind

1. Prayer( Prayers is an important factors in renewing the mind

For our mind to be renewed, it depends on the help of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit has an important role in renewing the mind. John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you”.

The Holy Spirit helps us to discover the value of God’s Word and helps us to remember how to live by the word of God.

2. Study the WORD of God: Joshua 1:8 “: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have goodThis book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein success”.

The word of God is very important in our Christian life. Our mind cannot be renewed in the absence of God’s word, even when we pray, we have to pray in the word of God. We cannot access treasure in hidden places in the absence of God’s words. The spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Understand, Console, and Might are all acquired through studying God’s words.

The writer of Psalm 119 states that he delighted in God’s law because he thought it was “more precious … than thousands of pieces of silver and gold” (Ps. 119:70, 72). The secrets of our lives are hidden in God’s words.

Deuteronomy 29:29 “the Secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

So, the secrets of our life are hidden in God’s word, and when we read or study God’s word it reveals the secret things to us, and those secretes can motivate us to study God’s word more, which can renew our mind.

Nothing Changes a man more than the word of God.

3. Love: love is a very important factor in the renewing of the mind of Christians Ezekiel 36:26 “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh

Prayer and the word of God give us access to the Holy Spirit

We all know that a Stony heart represents hate, anger and etc. and we also know that in most cases the heart of flesh represents a soft heart which is a loveable heart. So if God is given Ezekiel a heart of flesh in the above scripture, that means he is giving Ezekiel a loveable heart, a heart that will allow him to submit to the word of God, the heart that will allow him to love every instruction God has given him and do according to Gods word.

When we are in love, we do any/everything to make the person we love happy. Love helps to renew our minds. Love makes us see God from a spiritual perspective and give us a clear picture of all the good things God has in store for us.

When we pray and study God’s words, it allows us to understand the good intention of God towards us, and that makes us love God and do what his word has asked us to do. In such a way our mind is renewed.

The reason there are broken homes, broken marriages, and broken family is that their mind is not renewed. The reason their mind is not renewed is because they do not pray, they do not study God’s word. If you do not pray and Study Gods’ word you will not have the understanding to love the thing of God.

4. Obedience: Obedience to God’s things is clear proof that our mind is renewed. When a man is born again, does not mean he is going to stop everything he has been doing. In some scenarios, that person will still smoke if he smokes in the past, he will still drink if he drank in the past, and he/she will still do the things they did before. Even though they have accepted Christ, but yet they are still living their old life. To stop living our old life, we need to obey God's words.

Obedience proves two things:

• It proves we love God: John 14:15. 1John 5:2-3

• It proves we have faith in God 1John 2:3-6

When you are not obedient it means you are disobedient and if you are disobedient it means your mind is not yet renewed.

The Benefit of Renewing the Mind

What Happens when our mind is renewed?

When our mind is Renewed, the kingdom of God’s Priority becomes our Priority.

What is the major Priority of the Kingdom of God?

Matthew: 6:33” Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you”.

How can we seek first the kingdom of God?

We seek first the kingdom of God by winning the lost soul to Christ at all causes. Winning the soul is the number one priority of our heavenly father.

John 3:16 “For God so love the word that he gives his only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

When last did you win souls?

How do you feel when you go to church on Sunday with empty seats?

When we pray to God, we await answers,

When we study the word of God we receive answers

When we obey the word of God we received results from our prayers, and the word we study

But when we love God, we do not keep him to ourselves, we talk about him to everyone, how good he is.

And the reason we do that is because our mind is renewed.

If your mind is renewed but you find it difficult to speak to someone about Christ, it means something is wrong.

Conclusion

Helping people participate in the renewing of the mind is central to the task of discipleship because to be a disciple of Christ means learning to think like Him. “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God” (Col. 3:1–3).

As the members grow in their appreciation of what their Savior has done for them, The Church will be blessed will be blessed with its members who have the heart of Christ.
