What I Want with a Law Degree
I want to spend my first three years of Law school at Santa Clara University, never mind the three years or so I’m going to take to get my general education retaken, done, etc. I don’t have my transcript from my junior college yet, but I know which classes I need to do better in, because it is almost memorized. It is quite the long trip to my junior college by light rail, and it has to wait a touch until I’m ready to enroll in online psychology class. I also need my knee all the way better since my junior college has hills.

I Hated My Primary School
I went to two different primary schools, neither of which were perfect. The second one was, however, significantly better. But I even hated nursery. The time where you're supposed to have the most fun during school. It's basically a daycare with learning colours and shapes.

Going on a Year Abroad in High School - Pros and Cons
It is a well-known fact that you can go abroad for a year in university or college and, in fact, a lot of people do do that. What, as I find, not everybody knows, is that you can also go on a year abroad in high school. This used to just work if your school had a sort of partner school somewhere else and someone was willing to swap places with you, which is why these years are often called exchange years. However, nowadays, you can just go on your own or more commonly with the help of one of many companies out there who offer such programmes.

Why School Isn't So Useful
School has been known to educate people and help them get to a good college and then advance in their future. You know your parents will most likely tell you to get good grades that will help you in the future to get a job. BUT...that isn't the right way to proceed in life. School doesn't prepare you for real life, but actually makes you "academically smart." These are things that you mostly don't need to know about. The world is changing rapidly, but school hasn't changed a bit. It's our time to shine and understand that just because you did good in school doesn't really mean anything.

When My Teacher Became the Bully...
Have you been a victim of a educator who shamed or humiliated you simply just because your different from the rest of the class? Unfortunately, we've all fallen victim to this form of bullying. Let me just say that my second grade teacher was a woman and I feared her. It all started when I was eight years old and years before I was diagnosed with a learning disability. I already had poor reading and comprehension skills as well as my stuttering which my teacher was well aware of, and I couldn't understand why this teacher was so impatient and too cruel when she would handle her students who had disabilities.

Becoming an Adult
When you were in high school, you probably weren’t sitting around calculating how much debt you’d rack up by choosing to continue your education. If you were like me, you were worried about things like Friday night football and prom. When I was in high school, I didn’t know the difference between a subsidized and unsubsidized loan. I didn’t know how much I would have to be paying out of pocket to attend college. Now I’m stuck wishing I would have been more aware of my finances… and I’m guessing I’m not the only one.

Home School Freshman
I started homeschooling my daughter after a series of unfortunate events at her school. It was not the usual suspect of bullying but simply the lack of everything outside Math and English (sorry Language Arts). As a person from the XY generation who is borderline millennial, seeing how careers changed in the space of 20 years, I panicked! How will this content of education prepare my child for what’s next?!

Why The Arts Are Important
Art is a form of expression. Bottom line, that's what art is. And without expression, one cannot formulate any sense of emotions. Art allows me, among many, many others, the opportunity to broadcast who I am as well as what I believe in. Theater has made a significant impact on society and the way we see things.

The Girl Who Goes to Community College
When people think of community college, they think that it’s a school for lazy people who will never amount to anything. This stigma is far from the truth, so if you are one of those judgmental people who throw shade, oh do I have some news for you. community college IS just as impressive as going to a university.

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before College
College. It's what we all dream about growing up. The new freedom, new friends, and new experiences that are all shown in television and movie portrayals of college. Well, I hate to burst any bubbles, but not everything on TV is true in real life. I am just going to be telling of my experiences and lessons learned as a sophomore in college. Who knows if you have come to or will come to my same realizations, but either way, this is what I wish I knew.
