Songs my ADHD Has on Repeat: Part II
For those of you who haven’t read part one of this series, I’ll give you the quick recap: To my recent discovery, researchers have found that a side effect of severe ADHD is listening to the same songs repeatedly for a short burst of time. Considering I’ve been doing this since the dawn of the original iPod shuffle, where I could clip that beautiful silver bullet to my belt loop and walk around like an absolute boss, I’ve had ADHD much longer than initially thought.

Listening To Music On The Move
Introduction I have had some issues with phones dying on me, using backup phones and eventually landing up with my Google Pixel 4XL. Since I got it I have not actually listened to any music on it even though I have some excellent wireless earphones/buds. I did load some music on for when I was going to use it but when I was walking I just didn’t bother listening to anything.

Lesley Gore It was in 1962 that 16-year-old Lesley Gore went for her voice lesson. But this time around she and her piano player decided to visit a local studio in New York to cut some demos. Through an agent her demo made it to the desk of Irving Green the president of Mercury Records. Green was impressed by what he heard and signed the 16-year-old Gore. Green teamed Gore with up-and-coming producer Quincy Jones. Jones had just finished recording his jazz albums Big Band Bossa Nova and Quincy Jones Plays Hip Hits. He also just wrapped up recording projects with Nana Mouskouri, Sarah Vaughan, and Dinah Washington and went right into working with Count Basie, Billy Eckstine, and the Teen Queen of the U.S.A. Lesley Gore.

Penguin Eggs by Nic Jones
Introduction I have written about Nic Jones before and you can find out more about the great man in the piece below. I’m not sure when I got this album, but I had seen the song “Canadee-I-O” on many compilations and skipped it because I thought it would be some twee folk song, then at some point, for some reason, it started playing and I was shocked and stunned that I had actively dismissed such a beauty.
