Annie KapurPublished 5 years ago in BeatReason First: Why Does Trick Daddy Back Kodak Black?
In the world of beats, battles, and slave chains, hip-hop, some of the legends tend to look down on contemporary artists. They disparage everything from their flow, to their style of dress, to their lyricism. Backlash has arisen against rapper Bill “Kodak Black” Kapri stemming from his comments about Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter. His words resonated enough to impact legendary hip-hop artist Maurice “Trick Daddy” Young. By supporting the young rapper, he’s taking a stance to show that the more seasoned generation of hip-hop notables can vibe with the younger set. The fact that Kapri and Young both hail from Florida also is an indicator of the pat on the back that Young gave to Kapri.
Skyler SaundersPublished 5 years ago in BeatFuture's "Temptation" is a Perfect Song
Future released a new album a couple weeks ago. It’s a really good album. So good, in fact, that I can’t stop listening to it. I listen to it in the morning, and at night. I listen to it when I’m sad (which is often), I listen to it when I’m happy (which is less often), and I listen to it when I’m feeling absolutely nothing at all.
Kyle ManthaPublished 5 years ago in Beat10 Books on Bob Dylan (Pt. 2)
Bob Dylan is one of the most versatile singers in all of human history. He has an ever-changing voice and a timeless style. He's a man who has been in nearly every genre of music, perfected the art of lyricism and who has created a myth and a legend around himself—all whilst doing other ventures as well as music. There is no doubt about it that Bob Dylan is an incredibly hard-working man with a legacy that will never fade away. There are hundreds of books out there on Bob Dylan, some are clearly better than others but all of them have their own take on various aspects of the Dylan myth.

Most of you know Adina Howard for her provocative 1990s hits "Freak Like Me" and "T-Shirt & Panties." I, however, have gotten the rare opportunity to work with Adina as a filmmaker over the past five years.

Music is a very integral part of our life, consequently, for me, music has always been close to me, for as long as I can recall. I can recall as far back as two years old. We had just moved into Roseland, and we were some of the first black people on our block, and our neighbors were an old Jewish couple named the Benjamins.

If you’ve read my stories before, you probably know I have mentioned Waterparks in a previous story of mine. If you didn’t know that, make sure to go back and read my other stories, specifically the story I did about One Ok Rock!

So before we get rolling, let's explain what this is all about. Music totally dominates in my life. I hear it almost all day. I grew up singing, playing trumpet and listening to any genre I could find or that came my way.
Winners OnlyPublished 5 years ago in Beat20 Autobiographies by Musicians
Musicians are some of the most important entertainers of the modern world. How else would we relate to someone who has expressed a story that has even a tiny amount of resemblance to our own? These latter day poets are some of the core performers of emotion, story, voice, and instrument that the world cares to distinguish. Each of them has their own stories to tell and each of their stories are completely different from the last.
