Music hasn’t gone away. Musicians are currently bringing their art directly to their fans through live streams, surprise releases, and digital concerts. And we need it now, perhaps more than we have in a long time, for comfort and escape, and to make sense of the world around us.
Samuel OpemeyPublished 4 years ago in Beat'Loopzilla' a great pandemic mood enhancer by George Clinton
Loopzilla is a 1982 single by funk master George Clinton from his first solo album Computer Games. The song reached number 19 0n American R&B charts. What makes this recording so interesting is the way Clinton merged lyrics of songs from Parliament/Funkadelic as well as other hits from the 1960s and forward. The coronavirus pandemic has left many people unable to do the things they did previously to get their minds off of their troubles. George Clinton has always seemed to have double entendres within his music and a method and message to his madness. This is why his songs can be inspiring, fun to dance to, political, and cathartic, all at the same time.

Music would like to introduce you to an up and coming R&B star. You cannot think about music without thinking about Edison. In the beginning of his music, years he would end up using his full name which was Edison Salvador, but his mom thought it would be hard for people to remember. He did not want to change his name to anything crazy so he decided to use his first name instead. Edison felt like his name brought uniqueness with not a lot of people carrying the same name.
HeisenbergPublished 4 years ago in BeatMy Time at Willie Nelson's Recording Studio
Yep, you read that right. I actually got a chance to record at The Red Headed Stranger's studio. It was 2003, if I'm not mistaken. I had just received my certification in audio engineering and I was ambitious. Right afterwards, I was given a brief internship at Willie's other studio (Arlyn) but I wanted, or rather, needed, to be at the original in Pedernales. After some convincing, the studio managers decided to let me record a few bands there. I put an ad out on Craigslist and instantly received inquiries. Being that I lived in the live music capital of the world (Austin), there was no shortage of potential clients.

For The Fandom
Many people the world over, myself included, consider British Indie Rock band Arctic Monkeys to be the greatest of our time. I speak for myself, but also, I’m sure for many others when I say that Arctic Monkeys got me through many dark times in my life with their music, their live shows, and the relationship I have with their fandom both online and occasionally in person. Through my 23 years on this earth I have seen and learned of music’s ability to both unite and divide people of all nationalities, gender and race. It occupies a special place on the high table of human connection, joined only perhaps by one other entity equally as powerful. That is of course: food.
