Edison Salvador: The Next R&B Sensation

Music would like to introduce you to an up and coming R&B star.

You cannot think about music without thinking about Edison. In the beginning of his music, years he would end up using his full name which was Edison Salvador, but his mom thought it would be hard for people to remember. He did not want to change his name to anything crazy so he decided to use his first name instead. Edison felt like his name brought uniqueness with not a lot of people carrying the same name.

Edison is a singer and songwriter from Modesto, California. He has performed at many music festivals, shows, and concerts with artists’ such as Iamsu!, Sage the Gemini, and T-Pain. Ever since he moved to Los Angeles, Edison’s music has taken off farther than he could ever imagine. Living in Southern California was able to help him meet the right people that could help him on his journey. On Reverbnation, Edison was ranked in the Top 50 of artists living in Los Angeles area due to his hit song “Real One” which featured rapper Ziggy and was produced by Chris Keys.Not only did music open up to him, but acting did as well. Edison wanted to explore his passions in other parts of entertainment which involved acting, screenwriting, and directing. When it comes to the music world, acting world, and the entertainment world…Edison is someone that the future should be excited about.

At the age of two, he began to draw inspiration from the music scene from the parties that his family would throw. With the radio always on in his house he was able to hear a bunch of different artists across the genre of R&B and Hip Hop music.

Edison’s biggest influencers range from so many different artists ranging from Usher, Boyz II Men, B2K, Chris Brown, Jaheim, Trey Songz, Jon B., Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo, Ginuwine, and many more. He recorded his first two songs at the age of 14 instantly became well known around his peers in high school. His songs “Our Own World” and “New Label” became favorites in the town that he lived in, but both songs were only released through Soundcloud and Reverbnation. During his first year of college Edison realized that music should be his biggest priority.As the trends and times were evolving and growing…so was his life.

In April of 2016, Edison’s music grabbed the attention of MK Henderson who was very intrigued by his uniqueness as an artist decided to sign him as soon as he was able to. Being part of a label helped him learn what it took to market himself as an artist by meeting promoters, club managers, and venue owners that were able to book him for future shows. This lead to Edison performing at the biggest shows and festivals throughout the Northern California area. On October 26, 2016 he released his song “Break it Down” which was his first single to be released through digital retailers. Even though Edison had a huge focus on his dream of music, he also was passionate about getting an education in which he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 2017.

After graduating from college things were starting to change. Edison asked to be released from Static Records in January of 2018 due to uncertainty of where his music was headed. Although he was on his own again, this time he had people to work with which eventually lead to his release of “Real One” which came out on April 10, 2018. The song gained a lot of attention in which it lead to him performing in front of A&Rs and other music executives. After the song’s release Edison took a two-year hiatus. He wanted to focus on his acting and wanted to better himself as an artist so that the next song would be better.

The pandemic has definitely helped Edison connect with his fans and show them that there is a human side to him other than the man who does music. Edison tends to post videos of himself singing covers of songs on his Instagram which caught the attention of his manager Uneekint who is a well known manager, singer, and influencer. Once Uneekint became his manager, it seems like Edison is back on the right track. He landed a distribution deal with Stackinup Entertainment which released his new song “Lay You Down” and has become Edison’s most successful song to date with reaching almost 200,000 streams on Spotify. The duo between Uneekint and Edison is something to keep an eye on. Ever since they both started working together, Edison has been put on major magazines, blogs, interviews, and has been given a huge promotional team.

Edison has stated that new songs are on the way as well as projects in film. As the year 2020 has been hit with major controversies and setbacks, he has been able to use this time as a way to reach out to people by speaking on social issues, racial issues, the importance of education, and the importance of self growth. This is an artist that not only wants to create an impact in entertainment, but something bigger than that.
