As writers, we constantly strive to improve our craft. The quest for greatness is infinite. We are never truly finished learning or growing as artists of the written word. The drive to improve fuels our passion and ignites the spirit of creativity. If only editing could be as fun as pouring out that first draft.

Being The Change
“Nothing focuses the mind like a crisis” - Liam Neeson (Brave Blue World) Quarantine life has given me ample time to reassess the world and our impact on it. After a year of forgoing the usual social obligations, I find myself happier than ever. It amazes me how much joy can be gained by “going without”.

Saskatchewan Sweet Rolls: A Blueberry Bannock Recipe For The Adventurous Vegan
For years I have chased a connection to my ancestors. Growing up in a particularly Caucasian community as an indigenous youth, I had very little connection to my heritage. Although my paternal grandmother was a full-blooded Cree woman, her assimilation as a child had been thorough and complete. After being adopted from a residential school my grandmother was raised entirely away from her culture, leaving our connection to the past irrevocably severed. She was stripped of her language and retained none of the ancestral knowledge that should have been passed to her descendants. I have always felt this left a great chasm of unanswered questions in my life. Something essential was missing. History, connection to my truest self, lay vacant in my heart.

Project Puppy Protection
This cozy little angel may not be in the wildest of settings, but he is snuggled up in the only habitat he has ever known. Tucked up inside his brand new sweater he looks as safe and peaceful as any wild youngling coddled safely in their den. His mother rests quietly on the sidelines with a watchful eye. Like any creature in the wilderness, if her baby were in danger you would see just how wild she can be. We may live domesticated lives, but the wilderness lives deep within us all.

Celebrating Our Heroes
International Nurses Day is a global celebration of the amazing men and women who work tirelessly to protect and heal our communities. They put in long hours, rarely receiving the recognition due to their noble contributions. Throughout the pandemic, nurses have worked bravely on the front lines to protect us and care for our loved ones. The world is finally beginning to heal, thanks in large part to these everyday heroes. To commemorate our global healing process, this year’s theme has been appropriately dubbed “nursing the world back to health”

6 Amazing Snacks You Can Make With Pizza Dough
I often found myself desiring a wider variety of snacks as I prepared weekly meals. The trouble is that most of us only have a small amount of time each week dedicated to meal prep. In pursuit of snack menu expansion, without spending hours on various doughs and batters, I began experimenting with my best friend, pizza! I have discovered six sweet and savoury delights that can be easily crafted with the recipe included below. Creating various meals with the same dough allows you to save time on both preparation and clean-up. No mile-high stack of dishes, just a couple of bowls, some measuring cups, and one big spoon. As an additional bonus, shopping for groceries is a breeze when you require less ingredients to keep up your meal plan!

Anthems Of Anarchy
I was always somewhat of a “troubled teen”, as they say. My family life was turbulent at best, and friends were mostly a no-go. Being the weird kid is “cool” nowadays, but back in my day (insert old man shaking cane) it just made you an outcast.

You Gotta Put Your Behind In Your Past
My wish is not for the reinvigoration of one specific style. What I seek is a return to simpler times when clothing was made by an individual, rather than purchased from a fast-fashion site or big brand store. A time when each article of clothing was unique and made with love.
