Give or Take?
Birthdays. Anniversaries. Christmas. Valentine’s Day. Just Because. These are ALL reasons or occasions to purchase gifts. If you are anything like me, choosing the right gift for your significant other is difficult. Gift buying time makes you question just how well you really know the person you’re with. You spend hours, days, weeks, & sometimes even months trying to find the “perfect” gifts.

The Pack’s Pact
Madeline Turner sat alone at the lunch table. It was the first day of her freshman year, and she had just transferred to Lake Longwood Academy after her last little mishap at Cedar Beech Academy. A “mishap” that she dared not speak of but thought about often. She couldn’t help that the little girl died. It wasn’t her fault. She didn’t actually do anything. She just listened. Who knows what really happened? In fact, the little girl’s cause of death really wasn’t confirmed. It didn’t matter. She was a nobody, that’s why she was chosen. Nobody even remembered her name.

Swipe right or swipe left?
Dating is hard in this day, especially this new age tomfoolery! Either you’re busy working, parenting, schooling, quarantining, or just don’t feel like going out of the house to meet anyone! Throw in COVID 19 “social distancing,” & you’re screwed.

Date Night
There’s no time like quality time. In fact, quality time is my love language (aside from words of affirmation). Date nights are important. Whether you are newly committed, newlyweds, or in seasoned relationships that grow better with time; date nights are necessary to keep the love fresh & the fire hot.

A Letter To My Future Husband…
To my dear husband to be, When you found me, I was on a journey of restoration. I was on a path of healing, partially battered & broken, but somehow, you still saw beauty in me. A beauty I struggled to see in myself. You taught me rather quickly that beauty could come from brokenness. You saw beauty in the most battered & bruised parts of me, the parts of me that other men had thrown away.

I Will...I Do...I Did
Wedding day. The day most women dream about. Often times, the ring, the proposal, the Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids, color palette, & venue decorations are already picked & planned before the bride to be even know who the groom is. I was no different than most women. I remember claiming, “I’m getting married.” Some would offer congratulations while others would ask “to who?” I guess the plot twist was the fact that I had no earthly idea because I was single when I was saying it; single without any prospects in sight.

Love Lessons
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” When someone shows you their true colors, stop trying to repaint them. Do yourself a favor & don’t make the same mistake TWICE. Or in my case, thrice. Is there a quantitative measurement after thrice when counting consecutively? Who knows, but, I have a better question for you.

Puppy Love
I have always been a dog lover. It’s something about those cute floppy ears & the way they wag their tail to signify just how much they love you. Their love is unconditional, & I’ve often found myself saying that we don’t deserve dogs. (Side note: it always confused me when men are referred to as dogs because the love & loyalty of dogs is unmatched).
