The Deadly Shooting
Previously I talked about the condition Sensory Processing Disorder-I will refer it t SPD. I mentioned a young boy on Oprah who had violent outbursts and her showing this boy was a subject of controversy. I did not feel it was necessary to indulge in a person who became a household name who had SPD at the time. Somebody who over ten years ago did the unforeseen-killing 26 students and teachers at an elementary school-is Adam Lanza.

Ravaged Land
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Life used to be simpler back before the great recession. Several years earlier she and her boyfriend invested their savings into a diamond company. Her boyfriend, Luke, was given the option of working in a diamond mine and could further buy into the company. The pay was good and vacation bonuses sealed the deal. Now Kathy looked out the window to the ruins outside. It was the only way she could view the outside world. She was confined to the dwelling with a small bathroom and a bedroom.

Need For Vulnerability
Five years ago I had the pleasure to meet and gain a new friend. She was an emergency room nurse at the time and was writing a paper to be published so she could register as a nurse practitioner. We went to the same gym as at the time I lived in the south side of the city. She learnt that one of my hobbies was writing and read some of my work. She said I had talent and asked if I could read her paper. Her paper was about the need for vulnerability as an ER nurse. The paper states that being vulnerable prevents burn out and is needed in professions to keep humility and honesty within oneself while also helping others.

Searching My Soul
It has been 20 years since I was in high school and I had not thought about it till the day that changed my life. A mysterious drone arrived at my door. I thought oh a gift for the holidays. Sadly it was not. What it concealed were pictures of boys whom I had bullied in high school. I was forced to deal with the massive guilt of my conscience. Sure, every now and then I lost my temper with people. I had left my girlfriend because she was too clingy, even said a lot of hurtful things. I never donated to charity and would rather throw food I didn’t want then donate it to a food bank.

Male Betta Lays Eggs
Every time I look in an aquarium, I wonder whether it is like a small miniature world. Only difference is that it is underwater. We know from science that fish do not have the same rational brain humans do, therefor we can assume they don’t have the same problems. But do we know for sure? This is the story of the male betta fish Richard who was not born as Richard-yet there is no certification to say otherwise.
