The full moon brought the reverie,
The escape to mythical lands,
Where she could travel land, sea and air,
By unicorn, dragon and siren.
Through the lucid dream she could taste
Humble sweet madness,
Escaping her beautiful sadness
That life seemed to give her.
In her dreams she saw love,
Yet not the love of another,
But the love for life and validation,
The pieces of her life she could not find on Earth.
A cup of blue liquid would charge warmth through her body,
Allow her to breathe underwater, to grow gills,
To even taste the outer planets, the so called moon rock.
For this dream on a full moon was heaven,
It was a reprieve, an escape, a time for rehabilitation,
Away from reality a cause for stabilization,
Getting away from her life’s toxic situation,
From her employer’s harsh dictation.
She could see in her dreams the stars,
Put all her problems behind bars,
Escape society’s burns, no longer be a victim.
Oh dreaming, the heavenly release,
The divinity within that gave no wisdom,
No knowledge, but a sort of strength.
Her troubles so far away, yet so near,
How so close to her goals, yet so far away,
But her dream gave her will to carry on,
And hardships to temporarily be gone.
