How I Capture Sleep
These days it gets harder and harder for twenty something year old "kids" to fall asleep at night. We have a long list of stuff on our minds which can consist of college, work, relationships, parental pressures and expectations, rent, bills, and even what to eat tonight; the list goes on. After battling with this list during the day, it has the power to follow us into the night and to haunts our dreams. They leave us with nightmares that takes our energy instead of adding to it as sleep should. Add sleep to that list of stuff. It's a never ending cycle because as soon as we check one thing off the list, three more are added to it.

Cigarette Daydreams
You were only seventeen when you came to the conclusion that you didn’t want to do this after high school. You didn’t know if you were going to go to college, get an apartment, move to another state, or stay with your parents while you saved up money. You were unsure if you’d keep in touch with your friends or if they’d leave you behind to follow their plans. Since you questioned what came next after graduation, you thought leaving everything behind would be the best answer. You said your goodbyes in one word texts and turned off your phone.

Midnight Drivin'
In the back seat of her friend’s car she stared at the bright lights of the Chicago. Her friends had all the windows open and the music blaring as they drove. They laughed and yelled along with the music like tonight was they’re last night on earth, except her. Her mind was consumed by the thoughts of what she still needed to do later that night. Looking around the car that was so full of people, all she wanted was to fill her lungs with fresh air of the night. She finally said screw it and unbuckled her seat belt that was holding her hostage. She lifted herself out of the car window and sat on the window sill. She grasped onto the inside of the door while the friend sat beside held on to her ankle to ensure she wouldn't fall out. She leaned back into the night, into the wind that finaling abled her to inhale breathable air, and to forget about her worries. As the night comes to an end, she finally is able to understand why her friends are so carefree.

"Coffee Shop"
There’s two coffee places on campus. One is in the main building where people hang out in between classes. The place is called The Cabin but it’s actually a Starbucks.

Light in a Gray Room
The golden sunlight shone on the dandelions. She walked through the thick grass of the field, closer to the forest while she dragged her hand along the wild flowers that called it home. Her white flowing dress moved effortlessly with her. She felt the warm sunlight against her face as the safety of the golden sun fell behind the trees of the forest faster and faster. She started to run, her dress trailing behind her and the dandelion seeds flew with the imaginary wind. As she reached the line of trees she slowly woke up in her still gray room.

Dancing in the Rain
Watching the rain descended from the sky onto the pavement outside the window. Her boyfriend rested in bed, watching some show left on from the night before. He realized that every time it rained she’d become entranced beside the window. He left the room, returning with his and her shoes. An enormous smile infused her face as she beamed up at him. He grabbed her hand as they charged out of the room. They burst through the door like they were little kids again. And they fell in love as he spun her under his arm in the pouring rain.
