I Have a Dream
“Hark, now hear the sailors cry, Smell the sea, and feel the sky, Let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic. "― Van Morrison
I remember it like it was yesterday. My memories are so vivid I can taste them, I can smell the pine, feel the cold dance across my spine and see in my minds eye the infinite white, dotted sparsely with brown and green and black, those colors once again splashed with more white.
Mountains are Calling
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived" - Henry David Thoreau
What I Learned From...Seneca
“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.” - Seneca
You are not alone. Even if you feel as though you are at times. You are not disconnected. Even if you feel as though at times.
Tick, tock. Days whip by, the future becomes the past in an instance. The fears you held about the events to come, they drift away. The pains you hold for events in the past, they melt away into the movement of time.
"Sometimes we know in our bones what we really need to do, but we're afraid to do it. Taking a chance and stepping beyond the safety of the world we've always known is the only way to grow, though and without risk there is no reward". - Wil Wheaton
You don't need much, to live a good life that is. A good life is one that is simple. It has within it the things needed to sustain happiness, gratitude and compassion.
