Board Game Review: Chai
Chai had been on my list for awhile when my friend told me how great it was - she had been playing it at a game cafe. About a week or so later, she texted to say she was going to a giant game store in Vancouver, on a mission to find and buy Chai. I asked, if there was extra copies (knowing that it was sold out EVERYWHERE), could she get me one too? Well, she not only got me a copy, she got me THE LAST COPY, meaning she forfeited one for herself! She is one of the sweetest friends I have, and I think of her and her generous act every time I play Chai.

Board Game Review: Tokaido
One of the games in our closet that brings me sheer joy is Tokaido. This is a game where you essentially get to travel through Japan - buy souvenirs, taste delicious food, visit temples, and more. Of course, experiencing the real thing would be better, but I’m grateful this game allows me to relive my 2012 trip.

Board Game Review: Wingspan
Of the 8 games my fiancé and I collectively received for Christmas this year, I think Wingspan has been our favourite by far ... well, I won't speak for him, but he and his brother and I all wanted to play it a second time! (That's how it ended up being our first game of the new year.)

I Proposed to Him
When you get engaged, one of the first questions you're asked is "How did he propose?" Well ... I proposed to HIM. And so far, I've been met with a lot of positive feedback about that, so thank you World for being open-minded and supportive.

Communication Tip: Write a Letter
Who else is not a fan of conflict and confrontation? Raise your hand! My upbringing has made even simple communication a challenge at times. I thought all my communication issues were authority-related, but even in my loving partnership with my fiancé ("J"), I cry nearly every time I have something significant to talk to him about. I don't know if it's a fear of rejection - if I say what's on my mind, I'll be hated - or something else.

What I've Learned About Reading Cards
I bought my first oracle card decks a couple years ago ... and didn't use them. I was scared, and I felt dumb - I had no idea what I was doing! The artwork just looked pretty, and all the coaches I knew were using them ... and I knew they were sacred, and therefore wanted to use them right.

The Struggles of Being Multi-Passionate
It wasn't until my mid-twenties that I learned this word: multi-passionate. Pretty self-explanatory, but I had never come across this word before - not until I became a certified Life Coach (it's a widely-used word in the coaching realm!). "Multi-passionate" explains my personality so well, and I am so grateful this word is now a permanent part of my vocabulary!
