Lake of Souls
Once the world was gray. It was this way because the beasts who inhabited it knew of neither life nor death. Their world was static and unchanging as were they. One day the gods happened upon this planet and decided to change it. With this change came life and death. Warmth and cold. Color in an otherwise lifeless land. The gods did not believe that the former inhabitants of this land were now worthy of it. So they created new beings for this new world. To give these beings the power they would need to remove the former inhabitants the gods bestowed souls upon their new creations. There were five gods and five types of souls.

A Test of Courage
Being young in a small town should be a crime. There is nothing to do all day except for maybe chill with your friends. No mall, no arcades, not even a shop really outside of the grocery store. If you wanted any real entertainment you had to drive thirty miles to the east. So what's a small town boy to do when he has a crush on the prettiest girl in school who doesn't even notice him? Feats of strength, wisdom, or courage are the answer of course. Problem is I'm not very strong, my grades are mediocre at best, and well just between you and me I'm very much a coward. I still call my parents in to deal with tiny spiders. But I can at least pretend to be brave and so courage was what I decided to go with.

Haunted Home
I was a new home owner. At the age of twenty seven this was probably the biggest thing to ever happen to me. No mortgage either. A full on home owner. I had gotten it for super cheap because apparently the previous owner had some sort of psychotic breakdown and then died in the front lawn from a heart attack. He had been screaming something about ghosts according to the realtor. I figured I would buy some sage, call my spiritual friend over, maybe hire a professional to cleanse the house. It's not that I'm scared of ghosts but I'd rather not live with one either.

TerraNova
I looked down at the readings on my console. This couldn't be right. The scientists had all but guaranteed us when we left Earth that there was no life on this planet nor should there be by the time we arrived. I guess technically that isn't true. They made that promise to people several generations ago. But whenever a new generation was born and eventually got to the point of taking over the ship we watched the video that told us that same speel. The video was filmed when the first generation of people on this ship left Earth. Since then over three hundred generations of people have watched it while they went to a planet that was thirty thousand light years away. It had taken us thirty thousand years since we could only travel the speed of light.
