Chameleon by choice

Star when I can

Blend into the crowd

Stand out against it all

~

Head down, eyes half closed

Voice belting, people stopping

Body pulled in tight

Arms open for all to see

~

Oh Duality, Oh Duality

How I wish I could be one

But one voice speaks

And the other one thinks

~

In my hands I see the chances

Risk it all for a small possibility

Play it safe but breathe in mediocrity

One voice says stay

The other says jump

~

Heart thumping I lift my head up

Mind scrambling I open my mouth

Skin heating I shed off the chameleon skin

Stomach churning I speak

"Jump."
