Why Life of a Spartan Warrior Actually Sucked
Despite what Gerard Butler’s glistening six-pack and billowing cape might indicate in the movie “300”, it turns out life as a Spartan warrior was actually kind of terrible. Though life was undoubtedly worse in ancient times on almost all levels - health, longevity, hygiene - warriors in the ancient Greek city-state of Sparta might have had it worst of all. Why? We sent our reluctant researchers back to ancient times to find out. You might think that hell for Spartan warriors started during their intense military training when they were young men, or even perhaps teenagers. And…you’d be wrong.

What IF You Stopped Blinking (Minute by Minute)
Blinking- by the time I finish this sentence, you'll have blinked at least once. It's something we do without thinking, and good thing too because we do it so often. But what if you stopped blinking forever? The consequences can be shocking. In one hour you're going to blink between 900 and 1200 times. In a single day, you'll blink between 14,400 and 19,200 times. In a week that's 100,800 to 134,400 times. And in a year it's a whopping 5.2 million and 7.1 million blinks, giving your eyelids a real workout. Every time you blink your brain is taking a micro rest to process information.

The Welcome Parade from time to time still leaves its mark on this world, but first, we should look at where it came from.

The Ugly Truth About Walt Disney
The year is 1928 and 27-year-old Walter Elias Disney is sitting on a train after a pretty crumby business meeting. He takes out his faithful pencil and starts sketching, drawing something that he has no idea for decades to come will change people’s perception of a certain kind of vermin. Above the sketch, he writes, “Mortimer Mouse.” He then takes it home and shows his wife Lily. She chuckles and tells him, “Come on Walt, you need a cuter name than Mortimer…What about Mickey?” Walt smiles and agrees, Mickey will work. This is such a cute scene from the annals of American history, but did we add that Mr Disney drew that sketch at a time when he may have had some very bad thoughts in his head?

Most gravestones are a site of solemn remembrance, where mourners bring flowers and share memories.
