Getting to know music artist Edubb302
Tell us about you: I perform under the name Edubb302 but I was born Elijah Beckham 3rd and I am from Wilmington, De. Growing up my mom worked as a representative In the admitting department at the local hospital and my father maneuvered the streets with an entrepreneurial spirit.. If it made money then my father most likely was part of it. Wilmington, De is a city of many different shades of people and was nicknamed by public officials Small Wonder however it was also dubbed Murdertown USA by Newsweek Magazine for the high crime rate, poverty rate and the amount of young men who are losing their lives on a daily basis to gun violence. Wilmington is a city where everybody wants to be somebody and alot never get the Chance to make it out. As an artist I love music because it's a pathway to connect people even if your from a different neighborhood, are of a different ethnicity, or part of a different culture. Music has always been the one thing that is universal. Music has a way of captivating a listener through stories of struggle, hardships, and the good life. As a young kid I was raised in a household where during the day you heard the likes of Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G, Puff Daddy, Mase and more and during the night is was not uncommon to go to bed listening to Frankie Beverly and Maze, Jodeci, Lauryn Hill or the Isley Brothers to name a few. What makes me different as an artist is the dedication I have to my everyday listener. I'm dedicated to providing an authentic listening experience where every syllable is felt whether I'm standing on a stage in front of you or blasting through your stereo in your kitchen while you perform Sunday cleaning duties. The artist wouldn't exist without the fan so I cherish the relationships I have forged with the fans that see value in the authentic music I deliver and the real life scenarios that are prevalent and relate to the listener in their everyday life. In life it would mean the world to me to cross the 100 million stream mark. That would mean that all the work I have done to grow organically wasn't done in vain. And it would mean even more to me to be able to say that since day 1 I never changed who I was as an artist or as a man. Achieving this feat as an independent artist would be everything to me while also touring every major city and small town where there exists a demand for the authentic Edubb302 sound that has slowly invaded radios everywhere. After amassing 270k plays in the first 7 months as an artist sky is the limit. In the next 5 years I hope to be a household name and sought after when the listener is craving real life music that makes them take a step in the shoes of Edubb302 the father, the husband, the prisoner, the son, the employee.. in the next 5 years being able to pursue music full time and quit my 9 to 5 would mean the world to me. To be able to give the fans of my music the best of me and be able to focus on what matters most and that's providing good content that entertains and delivers. I would also like to be doing extensive touring as a full time musician and traveling to a city near you. As an artist I bring authenticity to the music world. I am an artist that is not afraid to be vulnerable. I don't really care who agrees and who doesn't like what I'm speaking. One thing I've learned is there is an audience for everyone and my best advice to other artists is find yours. Life has humbled me in many ways, from spending 5 years incarcerated after losing a several year battle with opiate addiction to having the chance to make it right and choosing the streets and money over the people thay cared for me the most, my children, siblings and relatives. Also I am bringing back the passionate artist who not only believes what is exiting his mouth but has also lived it, and survived to tell his story and lead the next generation down another path. As an artist although I sometimes choose violence I also choose self preservation. Don't come for me and I'll never come for you. Being authentic is more than just telling your story. I would never make a song about Balenciaga sneakers and Gucci clothes and then attend a show wearing Nike Air Max and Wrangler jeans. Once the fans question an artist that authenticity is challenged. I would like to be remembered for providing the listener with an authentic listening experience and for always maintaining consistent growth despite the barriers that life as well ad the music industry has managed to throw at me. Being an independent artist you learn quickly that not everybody is looking out for your best interest. It's a dog eat dog world and I'm consistently reminded of that everyday.

Getting to know entrepreneur Angel Alvaro Fong
How did you start your business? The first thing I did was think of the following. When deciding on a business, the first decision I make is: Can I sell this to anyone. I then go out and talk to people for about 3 months or so, telling my target market my idea, asking would they buy it and for how much. By the time I'm through this exercise, I have a better idea than when I started, I know how much to charge, and I have a group of potential customers from day one.
