Oppression Is Not a Trend
I am no longer surprised what the world is doing, especially when it comes to race relations. There seems to be this new epidemic of White folks calling the police for whatever black, brown, or any person of color is doing. I guess because they are so comfortably emboldened by the tangerine tyrant that we have as the president of the United States, the police are now their attack dogs. (Not like this is new, but you get it.)

The War on One Word
The "N" word. Oh yes we are going there. Why? Because it seems the lessons throughout the years need repeating. The "N" word was created to make black people feel bad about being black. The derogatory term created by slave masters to make blacks feel inferior. Most people on this earth have heard many derogatory words hurled at them and they elicit truly visceral reactions. 2017 introduced us to the word triggered wherein people react so violently to words being spoken that it has become almost a joke. Everyone seems to have their feelings hurt about something so now everyone is "triggered".

The Mixed Kid Defense
I am sure most of you have seen or heard about this woman hurling a racial slur at a Hispanic gentlemen. He had overheard her conversation and suggested she go to another store that might able to help her. She gets defensive and proceeds to tell him to mind his business and that she ain't afraid of no Spic. From the crux of whoever she was talking to, she was quite upset about being in the ghetto. Now I know that racism is alive. I know I am not an idiot to this fact but I find it funny how people are just being freely filmed while being a loathsome human being. These days, the racists seem to think they have a free pass for no longer holding back how they feel. I mean how do you actually function in any country knowing you have to interact with people of different ethnicities?

Don't Touch Me
Hehhehehehe. Yes that is giggling and it will continue to be giggling. When 45 got elected, there were many close ups of the new First Lady and one face that was especially telling was when he turned around after smiling at her and she went back totally at least looking very upset. Now whether she was or not, only she is going to know. What it did show however is that body language is a muthafucka. Disdain and hatred cannot be hidden and though our faces and our tones may be better at controlling how we feel, our body often rejects to bullshit. Now that there is video of Melania basically slapping his hand away, it begins to paint more of a tale.

Diss Foolishness
As I write this my Poshmark notification just stated "Life is too short to hold grudges" so you know I need to write this. 2017 is one of those years that is not sure what to label itself. It reminds me of how they labeled my Generation "X" because we were, and still kind of are to this day, unknown. Musically, the landscape is dry. I am talking Sahara Desert dry. Yes there have been albums released but because everything is so flash in the pan, I can't keep up. Thanks you Net gods for Tidal and my younger co workers. I honestly cannot keep up but I try my best.

Looks Are Deceiving
The tangerine overlord recently had an article written about him. He was quoted as saying the job of President of the United States is harder than it looks. While half the country knew his happy ass wasn't up to the task, anyone with half a brain could have told you that. After all you have the lives of millions in your hands and what decisions made by both the President and Congress are legally binding. He cried bloody murder throughout President Obama's presidency about executive orders being signed willy nilly. Meanwhile, this half wit has been doing nothing but executive orders since January 20th. You would swear he was ordering from a restaurant the way he has been signing every piece of paper thrown his way. Of course, the republican half wits are happier than pigs in slop cause they basically have a puppet to control. This was until all the town halls they proceeded to do around the country and the people they serve let them have it. The country has been tired of politicians for awhile and now we are a pot boiling over. They sit up there taking away people's healthcare and assholes thought he was going to fix it. What the fuck does the clown prince know about healthcare? He ran a business on daddy's money and hired people to do that. He has probably never really issued a rule truly in his life. But oh the job is harder than it looks. The same man who crucified President Obama about golfing vacations when that is all he has done every weekend since his inauguration.

Remind me never to get into crafting outside of my home. Or maybe just don't do anything? I recently came across an article where a Colgate University student was under suspicion of having a firearm when in reality he had a glue gun. Yes ladies and gents, a glue gun. Now to add to the ever growing list of what black people or hell even brown people can't do. So now we can't do arts and craft.

Light Issues
Being on this planet for about 40 years, I had a lot of different things I went through growing up. Being a black girl with natural red head and light skin was considered somewhat of an anomaly during the 70s. My mom is light skin and my father is dark skinned. My mother was hoping she would have a brown skin baby but DNA is a muthafucka. From birth, I was treated differently. The nurses in the hospital told my mom about how the racist nurse made it her mission to take care of me because she thought I was someone's Irish baby. I mean I came out paler than my mom expected and then to have a full head of flaming red hair. Talk about different. Once that nurse found out my family was black, she couldn't hand me over fast enough to my mom and stomp away as the other nurses just laughed at her.

Put a Smile on your Face
I smile today because about a month ago, I was not. I had returned from visiting my sister in Dallas. I had a wonderful time with her, hubby and my fuzzy Maltese nephews. I come back to the home I share with my boyfriend to find out that we have been evicted. Talk about buzzkill. It was just like life was like "You feel too good. Deal with this!"
