Why Beto O'Rourke Can Beat Ted Cruz in the Texas Senate Race
The 2018 senate race in Texas is starting to get into full swing. Most political experts have declared that the Republican candidate, Ted Cruz, seems like the probable winner. He's an incumbent and a member of the dominant party so to many it appears that he already has the race in the bag. But the Democratic candidate, Beto O'Rourke, is starting to give the accused Zodiac Killer a lot of reason to worry.

Fall Out Boy: 'Mania'
It is no secret that Fall Out Boy has become one of the most commercially successful "rock" bands of the past decade. They've done this by constantly evolving their sound and musical direction. While the band's members have always claimed that they never make musical decisions based purely on what's popular, it seems painfully obvious that their latest effort, 'Mania,' is a headfirst dive into mainstream radio pop.

I Went to a Nickelback Concert and It Was Actually Great
This summer the world's most hated band gave me front row tickets to one of their shows. Yes, I'm talking about THAT band, Nickelback, the one responsible for countless memes and jokes that plague the internet. All of my friends didn't believe me when I said I was going, and they incessantly made jokes about how Nickelback was the "worst band of all time." But what many don't know is that Nickelback is actually one of the most commercially successful acts of all time. It is sad to see that they've become the subject of every joke ever, but hey that's the price they have to pay, I guess. But Nickelback still finds a way to overcome the constant barrage of memes and jokes. The band is actually still doing a lot, and in fact, they just released their ninth studio album, Feed The Machine. They even somehow managed to pull Chris Daughtry (that dude who was on American Idol back in like 2006) from whatever hole he's been hiding in for years and got his band to open up.

Austin City Limits 2017 Recap
This October, thousands of festival-goers met at Austin, Texas' Zilker Park for the first major festival since the tragic events in Las Vegas. This year marked the 16th anniversary of the Austin City Limits music festival, and after 16 years the festival shows no signs of slowing down. This was my third consecutive year attending ACL Fest and it might have been the most memorable.

White Supremacy
This past week conservative commentator, Ben Shapiro, spoke at the University of California, Berkeley. He was required to pay a hefty security fee to speak at the campus and the school even restricted his audience size for "security reasons". Protests were present throughout the day, and the overall message was that UC Berkeley students were "standing up against (his) white supremacist BS." Due to the fears of these protests becoming violent, the school spent over $600,000 in preparation for Shapiro's visit. But what many of the protesters (and the most liberal Americans) don't know is that Ben Shapiro isn't a white supremacist at all. In fact, Ben Shapiro openly condemns white supremacy quite frequently. He even received an award last year for being the most targeted individual by white supremacists on social media. Yet regardless of these facts he was still met with anti white supremacist protests. This event clearly shows that many individuals don't know what white supremacy really is, so let's explore.

DACA
On September 3, the political magazine Politico released an article that announced that president Trump has decided to end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) with a six month delay. While countless protests have already occurred as a response to the President's decision to end DACA, not many people actually know what it is and what it does.

The Worst President Of All Time
It doesn't really need to be said at this point but Donald J. Trump is the single worst president this nation has ever had. Some people (Tomi Lahren) may call this a dramatic "leftist snowflake" opinion, but let's look at the facts.

Dear Donald...
Dear Donald, Most of us had high hopes when you were elected. We expected you to "drain the swamp" and Make America Great Again, but instead of making your campaign promises come true you have created a political circus. From the very start you have been surrounded with controversy; every day there is a new scandal or a new problem with your administration. You promised to reunite the Republican party but instead you have only divided it even further. You can't even get Paul Ryan, the most spineless of all Republicans, to control a Republican congress for you. Maybe all of this is because you have never held office? You claimed that your experience as a businessman would be more than sufficient when it came to running the country, but for a businessman hardly anything you do seems to be economically smart. You spend most of your time at your own resort in Florida instead of the White House, costing American taxpayers millions of dollars. Then there is this most recent scandal with Russia that has led the media to compare you to the likes of Richard Nixon.

The End of Trump
It has now been 116 days since Trump took on the role of our nation's leader (feels like a lot longer doesn't it?). He has had his fair share of controversy, but his most recent actions have many critics comparing him to the likes of 37th United States President Richard Nixon. So here is a brief overview of what our supreme leader has been up to.

Hang In There, America
It has now been over 100 days since Trump has been inaugurated. While the first 100 days may not be enough to define a presidency, Trump has definitely already had his fair share of controversy and roadblocks. From his very first day in office, President (it was painful to type that) Trump has had to deal with strong and apparent criticism. Countless protests and marches have been organized in opposition to his administration, and there are just more to come. For many this first portion of his term has been an increasingly confusing mystery. Do any of us really know what this man has been up to? Every day the news is constantly filled with Trump related headlines. You would think that with all this press there must surely be progress, and perhaps there has been. So I am going to dive into this mess (against my better judgement) and break down his first 100 days into the bad and the good. Heads up, it is mostly bad.
