A Plant-Based Road Trip through England and Scotland
“Veganism is not a sacrifice, it’s a joy.” Gary L. Francione The United Kingdom is a perfect travel destination for a vegan. Never on the two-week road trip from London to Edinburgh was there a shortage of plant-based food. I quite literally ate my way through London, Bath, the Cotswolds, Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Lake District, Loch Lomond, Inverness, and Edinburgh.

Time Stands Still in Pompeii
Entering the gates of Pompeii, I was awestruck by the monstrous gladiator statue at the base of the mighty Mount Vesuvius. It’s difficult to fathom how such an already-intimidating force of nature was at least three times larger than it is now due to its fatal eruption mid-morning, 79 CE. It was also challenging to understand how I was standing on a location where ships used to dock and made Pompeii a vital port of Italy.

Like most travellers I check out the guidebooks before I jump on the plane. My recent trip to Ireland was no exception. Travelling east to west with Lonely Planet in hand I hit the major tourist haunts. Dublin’s Trinity College and the Book of Kells? Check. The Cliffs of Mohar? Check. The Titanic Experience in Cobh, the final departure point for the ill-fated liner? Did that. Kissing the Blarney Stone? No thanks, sounded like a mononucleosis-spreader to me.

As I mentioned in my last post, I feel as if a part of me is an older soul trapped in this young woman's body who had a past life in Europe. It feels so surreal to me but yet I am having trouble finding the words.
Kelley MisetichPublished 2 years ago in WanderThe Cornish Festival that is Bigger than Christmas
Every May, usually on the 8th, tens of thousands of people take to the streets of Helston for a Cornish festival that’s “bigger than Christmas”. Everything stops for Helston’s Flora and the town goes slightly mad for the day.
I'm Preparing for My Next Adventure & I'm Going Solo
That's right! I'm preparing for my next adventure, and this time, I am taking off to Ireland! Summer is just starting, and I'm already sick of the Florida heat. Walking outside, it feels like I just faceplanted into Mother Nature's armpit, and it's not even July yet. As fair-skinned ginger on the Gulf Coast, I need a break.

Personal Photo by TS Stamos Sunset at the Temple of Poseidon Visiting Greece is not only breathtaking but is relatively easy. There are many things that Greece has to offer. Its varied terrain and climate offer something for everyone. Greece has history and ruins and offers many thirsts for knowledge and an unquenchable supply to drink and soak in. Outdoor live theater is typical in many areas in Greece.

The Amalfi Coast, Italy - The Best Place I've Been
So far, I’ve been to 43 major cities, 28 states, 9 countries, and I have no intention of stopping any time soon. Until the Grim Reaper pays me a visit, I’m going to travel as far as I can while I can.
Crystal A. WolfePublished 2 years ago in Wander Touring Tuscany: Where To Go And What To Do
Tuscany is a historic Italian province which showcases the very best of Italian culture, architecture, food, and wine. Its strategic location on the West coast has meant that it has been colonised many times under many rulers, first by the Roman empire in 351 BC to the Napoleonic empire in 1808.

We arrived in Edinburgh to be greeted largely by sun. In fact, it largely stayed this way while I was there. Apart from when it didn’t - 5/10 minute periods of the heavens opening when only a minute ago you were practically sunburnt. But hey, that’s the UK for you. I’m typing this on the train home right now and if I look to my right I see glorious sunshine, where as on my left it’s pouring.
Matty LongPublished 2 years ago in Wander10 things to know about Denmark
So here are a few things I have had to clear up over the last 5 years and some bonus information. Is Denmark really one of the happiest places in the world? Well, we do have free healthcare, get paid a livable wage, and have 6 weeks of paid vacation every year. Not to mention maternity/paternity leave for 12 months. Getting paid to go to college. Solid infrastructure. Oh, and we have relatively low expectations of life and a lot of happy pills (antidepressants). We don’t get much sun during half of the year.
Anne PedersenPublished 2 years ago in WanderIt is worthwhile to visit Italy's volcanoes
Significant volcanic activity can be seen on the Apennine Peninsula and surrounding islands. In Italy, there are four active volcanoes (including the Ferdinandea undersea volcano), eight dormant volcanoes, and four extinct volcanoes, with two more entities whose condition is unknown. Although some pose a serious hazard, their beauty makes it impossible to ignore them.
